My imaginary friend was Pogo. I don't know if I got that from the comic strip or not, but he did all the dangerous stuff. Mom tells better stories about Pogo than I can even recall. All I remember is that he was pretty darned sophisticated.

It's my sisters really, but when she was younger, her imaginary friends were Oliver and 'The artful dodger' from oliver twist. She was forever singing the songs and one time we my dad drove off and 'left them' at Wimbledon common. My sister screamed and screamed till my dad had to turn round and get them, a wasted journey of almost two hours!

I used to have an imaginary friend named Joey. Joey was 16, and a kangaroo. I didn't realize the only female kangaroos had a pouch, so Joey had one that he used to carry me in. He lived in an invisible house that ran from one side of my street to the other, like a bridge. The door was 6 feet off of the ground and he had to jump really high to reach it.

There was one time, before my little brother was born, my mom had left a pie shell cooling on the table... it looked so good, so I just took a pinch out of it and another, and another..... when she asked who did it (I was an only child at the time), I told her Joey did it and she pretended right along with me that he had.

When I was around 3 or 4, I had an imaginary friend named Jenny. I would talk to her on a play phone...she was never actually there in person. Jenny would call me and tell me about her adventures. As I grew older, Jenny started to call me less and less. My mother asked why this was and I said that Jenny had turned into a mermaid and was vacationing out in the ocean. The last time she called, Jenny was no longer a mermaid. She had turned into an eagle and flown away. The last thing I told my mom about Jenny was that she was dead. A hunter had shot her...I was very odd as a child.

I used to have an imaginary friend. Her name was Becky. She was my best friend in the whole world, and one afternoon we were playing out front while my father was working on the house. She leaned up against the wall to rest and my father drilled a hole right through her. She dissapeared and I would not speak to my father for three days.

When I was little, I had an imaginary pet donkey named Jasper. He could fly and he lived on the moon, where they ate chairs for lunch and video games were evil. He was my best friend, until I turned 7 and got a real life. I know. I was strange.

I had an imaginary friend called Columbia who was a very important and busy woman. She would only visit occasionally. When NASA launched Columbia I was amazed that she was that famous that they would name a spaceship after her. I still don't know what Columbia really is but I always think of my friend when I see something about it.

OK, I've seen others who gave personalities to numbers. I gave personalities to my crayons, and by extension, colors in general. Purple (and if available, pink) were the lovely maidens. Red and blue were the cute guys fighting over purple. Green was a friend of the "boys." Yellow was the average-looking friend of the "girls." When I got bored in class, I'd sit and create whole stories in my head, moving the crayons around my desk accordingly.

And I was in the gifted program!

When i went on long car journeys with my parents i would always have a selection of invisible friends to keep me company, They would run super fast to keep up with the car (they were not alowed in the car!) and id have nice long chats with them about how there day had been and stuff. When i'd reached a certain age, i figured that i was to old to have invisible friends anymore so on the next long car journey every single invisible pal i ever had lined up to wave good bye to me...it was a 4 hour long drive...and a very long prossesion of invisible people, but i waved to all of them and was very touched that they'd come to say good bye!

When i was about 6, i used to want a dog. My parents didn't approve, so i decided i'd prove them wrong and buy an imaginary Westie. I walked around all day with my fists clenched, holding his lead. When i needed to use my hands, i'd tie the imaginary lead to a tree or chair! I was walking back from school wheni realised i'd forgotten about my doggy and had left him tied to a chair at school. I was well upset and wanted to go back and fetch him.. :(

When I was 5, I had an imaginary friend called Georgina. I believed she lived inside my locket necklace. I used to cycle around the streets talking to her loudly, I remember saying "Come on Georgina, we need to go and find my new imaginary friend to live with you!" Then I ran about the street wildly, saying "Georgie! Come back! You need to go home to my locket now!" and then shut my locket and sighed because she had gone "home".

I, like many children, had an immaginary friend. Only this friend lived in my brain and his name was Zoney. He was essentially the manager of my body (yeah i sound like a psycho). He was not alone though. My body had "workers" in every section and they all had very original names like footey, hearty, kneey, fingery, nosey...you get the point. Well whenever I would do something I would make bets with different parts of my body, i.e. i would bet my heart 100 blood cells that I could make a basketball shot. I later realized that I was a very stupid kid.

When I was very little, I created a place called Rosie Land (because my name was Rosie.) In this land it was always sunny and a nice day out and we all sat around sipping lemonade, which came from a huuuge lemonade pitcher. There were also wolves in Rosie Land, but they stayed outside the fence and never bothered us.

When I was 7, I used to believe that Misty and Brock (both from Pokemon--I used to love Pokemon) were always with me, and that I was really Ash, I just hadn't realized it yet. They would always try to convice me that I wasn't Audrey, I was Ash. But I never believed them.

They would also help me take tests at school (don't know where I came up with that). When I did bad on a test, I went home, locked myself in my room, and screamed at them until I lost my voice, because I thought it was their fault.

I believed all of this up until I was 13 (I'm 15 now).

When I was younger, I had several imaginary friends who were my brother and sisters (I'm an only child). My favourite was Shiloh, the youngest, and sometimes I still talk to her whenever I've had a bad day...

when I was little, I used to have an imaginary friend who was a dragon by the name of Fossie. She used to be able to grow to any size, from being in my pocket to being big enough so I could fly away on her back. She lived up in the clouds, and when it rained, she was actually watering her garden.
