I believed that when i was 11 i would become a wizard like harry potter get a letter from hogwarts and get a magic wand. I looked forward to my 11th birthday so much. when i realised i wasnt magic i cried my eyes out at the thoughts of being a muggle. thats harry potter for you!!

I didn't actually believe this myself, but it would be funny if children believed that looking in funfair mirrors meant that you really had lost or put on weight!

I used to have a little plastic pig that I pointed to the teacher so she won't give me so much homework to do.
My brother believed that too, so I would keep the pig for one week and he would have it the other week.

My friend's brother had made a strange looking staff with a fake deer skull on it for some school project. My friend told me it was the time staff, and if we tapped it on the ground, we could travel through time. We actually went 2 hours back in time, by checking the vcr clock and the kitchen clock before and after using the time staff.

I used to sincerely believe that when I turned eleven, I would receive a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry inviting me to attend, just like Harry Potter. I always imagined how fun it would be learning to use my secret magic powers, and wondered if I would eventually get an english accent because the school was in britain. On my eleventh birthday, I was extremely disappointed when nothing came in the mail for me except birthday cards.

when I was a kid, I used to think I have super powers but I haven't figured out what it is yet. so everyday I check if I have telekinesis or If I have super strength. I still do that for fun sometimes, staring at a jar hoping I could move it around.

my dad used to drive me insane with this: he would stand a few metres away from me, tell me to pick up an invisible ball from the ground and throw it into the bag. I would clearly hear the ball hitting the bag and falling inside. It took me years to work out how it was done but then the magic was all spoiled

I used to believe in magic, and one year I wanted a magic set.

On Christmas Eve I dreamed of all the things I would do to people at school.

I was so upset to find out that magic is completely fake - I'm still amazed by magic though!

i was watching lambchops play-along when this woman taught us how to hold a dollar bill upside down amd fold it a few times and unfold it and it would be right-side up again. i didnt know that the folding was what made it flip around. and for years i thought i was magic.

when we were little, my grandparents used to have little feathery bird ornaments on their christmas tree. my grandfather used to tell us if we gently petted a bird, it would magically start to chirp....and it did!!!!! but how???? we used to believe that somehow they were real...but they just didn't move or chirp unless he was around when we petted them....AT ALLLL!!! hahaha! what we didnt know is that he also had a little silver ball ornament hanging on the tree that had a little switch on it and while we were distracted petting the bird...he would flick the switch and the chirping began. After he passed away, my mother continued to do it to us...It wasnt until years later that we realized what was going on LOL :)

I used to think that i could make an invisibility cloak (like harry potter) if i collected hairs from the carpet, cut off the dark bits (my famaily has dark hair), and sewed them toggeter. I stopped collecting when the big ball of hairs i had collected and put in a box had disssapered. Later i realized the truth.

I still wonder...

Another thing my dad would do was to place his hands over his nose and twist it to one side. This would be accompanied by a loud *crack* and him wincing. I was in awe. When i finally found out how to do the nose cracking trick I fooled all my friends who thought i was gross but cool

When my neice was three years old and she would always steal my boyfriend's hat and end up loosing it. One night when she tried to take it, he threw it to my and I hid it from her. When she asked where it was, we told her the garbage man took it. Apparently she believed it, because a week or so later, she was tired of playing a toy, and asked him to throw it to the garbage man. She is now four, and every now and then still brings that up.

I used to believe that if you laid down on the ground, closed your eyes and tried REALLY hard, you could turn into or go anywhere you wanted, even made up places. The power of the human mind is staggering, so every time we tried doing it, we felt like something was actually happening.

When my little brother was about 4 years old, whenever he did something that I didn't like, I would tell him that I have a magical spell to make a monster appear in the closet. And then I would say the "magical spell" inky pinky medusa. Then I will tell him that the monster is this ugly face woman with snakes all over her head for hair and she would have her snakes bite him...he would do what ever I tell him...he's 15 and still believes I have magical spells.
