I used to think that the knotholes on my wood-panel ceiling would fall off. I guess I thought they would attack me or something, because I remember being extremely scared of them.
Until I was 12, i lived in a townhouse. When i went to sleep and put my ear to the pillow, i heard voices.Until i was 10 I thought that thieves, criminals, and monsters were having meeting in my house while we were asleep! It turns out that i was hearing the voices of the people in the opposite house, louder because the bed was aginst the wall we shared with them.
When I was little I used to believe that there was a sand man. And he was a big shadow on the walls and could turn into sand and crawl through the crack under my door. I would always close my eyes tight at night in fear that he would come and get me.
When i was younger i always thought that every one was a monster at night. Every one but me. i would always hide under my bed because i thought i was safe where they couldn't find me.
My aunt used to tell me if I didnt hurry up the big fat man would get me so i ran but now she still says it but I dont run It only reminds me of the old days
When I was a little kid, and when my mom, dad, and I lived in my grandparents basement, I used to believe that if I stepped in a laundrey hamper, that my feet would be stuck in them. I thought that if I stepped in them, and got stuck, that a monster would come and eat me. I also thought that fireflies were aliens, and if I went outside alone that I would be abducted and then eaten by aliens.
my brother told me that there was a walking voodoo doll under my bed that would eat me!
I used to belive that zombie hands would burst trough the floor and grab my ankles.
When I was a child I used to believe that when I went to sleep, some kind of maniac or monster would come to my bedroom, and tried to kidnap me, but If I was under the blankets of my bed it couldn't kidnap me.
I used to belive this: If I saw a stranger man and spoke to him, he would become a monster. This was because my mother told me not to speak with strangers. And because she said this I belived that strangers were dangerous.
i used to believe that after dark the zombies and monstars were out.it wasnt in till i was 13 that i found out it was just a tree
When I was growing up, my dad would tell me there was a Boogie Man in our hallway and that if I didn't hurry up and get out of the hallway, that he would get me. So, for years I'd run down the hall as fast as I could.
The gurgling of water in the s-pipe under the bathroom sink was a monster. It needed to be fed bits of lollipop on a regular basis. If it was not fed then Santa Clause would know. Then I would not receive any presents. I was 6 1/2 when I thought this. The monster is probably quite hungry now as it hasn't been fed in over 20 years.
When I was five my big brother told me that a big fire ball came round every year. It rolled around the streets sucking people in and killing them. I believed him and was totally terrified. I'm 23 now and he still laughs about it today.
When I was a child, I strongly believed that Giants lived in amongst the mountain ranges. It was something I didn't shake until I was twelve.
When I was little, my mum used to tell me that if you didn't go to sleep, the moon would see you and tell his friend, Mr Crane (not a bird, the mechanical type!) would come and lift you out of bed and take you to a place where all the nughty children go. Needless to say I had a few nightmares and wouldn't go near cranes til I was about 7.
When I was little, I saw the movie Gremlins. I was terrified!! I thought gremlins were real and that they'd run out of the dark and get me. Well, I used to have a play room and one day as I passed it, I saw out of the corner of my eye what I thought was a gremlin. I avoided that room like the plague for about a week. I finally got brave enough to go in (screaming bloody murder at it... as though that would help) and it turned out to be a crumpled up sock.
when i was younger my grandpa used to tell me that there was a monster named pig face and that he would sneak around at night and eat bad little kids or kiss them and turn them to dust.he also said that pig face smelled bad so every time we would smell something bad i would think it was pig face. i beleived that till i was about 11 but i was still a little frightened at night to go out in the dark.
When I was younger, I used to have a lot of nightmares about the flying monkeys from the wizard of oz. So much so that I convinced myself that the lived in my attic . This was backed up when I has re-occuring dreams about them ice skating in little red suits......in my attic.
I am now 30 years old and very unstable ..... ooo ooo ooo ooo
Around the age of 6 I had a little fantasy I scared myself with where I thought I'd wake up to find a monster had literally grown out of me overnight. I pictured it as a sort of purple brain with beady eyes and lots of root-like arms. I eventually decided it wasn't such a scary thought because the creature would have to consider me its parent, and we'de be best friends.
