when I was about 6 thanks to my evil big sister i believed that when you went to bed all the little bed bugs come out and collect your skin then take it to a giant bed bug that lived in the middle of the bed and when it got big enough it burst out and ate you. I remember sleeping curled up on my pillow until the age of 9!

I used to think there were alligators under my bed. Everytime I got out of my bed I would stand on it and jump as far from it as I could so that they couldnt catch me.

When i was younger, whenever I saw a bunny I thought it would become bigger when my back was turned and come and get me. That image stopped when I saw one in a really public place. I saw the bunny, kept my eye on it and ran...right into a pole. I can still hear it vibrating and all the people asking if I was alright...

when i red a book of jabberwocky with illsurations i imagined the actual monster looked like a bird crossed with a dragon and a lion and he had a huge big beak with sharp, long teeth sticking out instead in the book he looked like a large bird with big bug eyes i wish i could find a place that sells that book because on one of the pages it has pictures or all the monsters he's killed (including the jabberwocky) all i seem to remember seeing there was a stag's head with pink and black stripes and a funny looking blue lion with funny attene thingys on his head.

When we were kids, we believed in a "BogeyMan", who hid in dark spaces (Like under the bed, at bedtime, leding to some fantastic acrobatics to get safely into bed, after turning out the room light switch)

Well, nowadays, I believe the "Hannibal Lector" stories to be about a "BogeyMan" for the Late Teens.
This character essentially says: "If you don't get out there, take the world's challenges on, & _MAKE_ something of yourself, then you're a passive "LOSER", due to be exploited by someone who's going to cheat you out of MORE than just your money ..."
"There is no room for self-pity at my table, Clarice ..."

I used to believe that well one time I rented a seseme street movie and it had a segment where ernie and bert went to tis pyramid and saw a mummy that looked like them and ernies was alive well i had fixed in my little head that *pyramid ernie* lived in the attic off my room and when i slept he watched me from behind my bed and if i stepped on the pink fuzzy stuff on the floor of the attic it would be this endless hole type thing and pyramid ernie would grab my foot and pull my foot down there
