I used to believe that there was someone "working" inside of the TV set that sat there and changed the channels when I turned the knob. I would spin the knob around really fast trying to confuse them, but they always got it right. Mom told me that they could see me, too, so I should get dressed before I sat down in front of the TV so that I wouldn't be seen in my PJ's.

At the beginning of every movie at this one theater when I was a kid, they showed a short film featuring a local radio celebrity asking us to be quiet and let everyone enjoy the show. He also said at the end that if we can find him after the show he'd give us a shiny new dime. I eventually figured out that he really wasn't really in there, unless he was a big fan of 'The Rescuers.' But until then, I would always sneak a peek over my shoulder to see if Larry Lujack was sitting in the back row, all by himself.
I used to believe that everyone was constantly being filmed. This was due to crime reconstruction programmes, although I couldn't understand why they couldn't catch the criminal. But it stopped me from being bad cause i thought my mum could watch me
