When I was a little girl my grandfather told me that Mickey Mouse was his cousin. I thought how lucky can one kid get!!! He still tries to get me to believe it.

You know that cartoon Digimon? Well, I used to believe that me, my best friend, and a few other kids we knew were really Digi-Destined, and someday, we were going to go into the Digital World and have to save it from evil. We "knew" who our Digimon were going to be because it had been psychically suggested to us, and at one point we were even convinced that we were taken into the Digital World when we were younger but made to forget about it. It went so far as us to assume that we would occasionally get "possessed" by our adversary Digimon, MegaTyrannomon and occasionally DarkMistressmon. We were convinced it had to be us because we also happened to be sorcerers (obviously), because we knew "magical artifacts" (usually bizarre yardsale knickknacks) when we saw them.

We thankfully grew out of this, but I'm still not entirely certain about one of those "artifacts" that we called the Stone of Chaos. It really was creepy...

I made up a theory when I was about 5, that every night when I was asleep, all the cartoon characters that I would watch on TV the next day would sneak into the house and climb into the back of the TV before I got up the next morning.
I didn't really believe it was true. I wonder why I made up this 'theory'?

I used to get mad at the Bananas In Pajamas because they were so dumb when they did stuff. I wanted to go into the TV and tell them how to do things!

Just a few weeks ago (I reasoned this out with said friend), my friend and I thought we were the Black Spy and the White Spy from MAD MAGAZINE. We would run around my basement making "helicopter" sounds and try to beat the shizzit out of each other using pillows.
We live in a retirement community, so imagine our neighbors thinking they were going senile seeing a couple of teenagers in fedoras and sunglasses running around the backyard.
Luckily, this is not believed anymore.

When I was little, I remember watching My Little Pony, and seeing "to be continued" on the bottom of the screen at the end of the episode. For the longest time, I really thought that "continued" was some sort of adjective for "evil" or something. Like "to be bad". I thought they were saying something about the bad guys!

A girlfriend of mine believed all the way up until high school that Piglet from Winnie the Pooh was a girl. She was heartbroken when she found out the truth because everything she thought she knew about Piglet was wrong.

When I Was Younger, I Used To Believe That If I Ate Spinach Like Popeye I Would Sprout Muscles And Do The Whole Transition From Weak To Strong In 30 Seconds.
Of Course My Mother Took This As A Opportunity To Input That I Would Be Big And Strong If I Ate ALL My Veggies.

When I was 5, I used to watch re-runs of 60's cartoons and there was one called "Atom Ant" about an ant who had super powers. I thought his name was "Adam Ant" and it took me a while to figure out the truth.

I used to be skeptical about non-disney fairytale characters, since their name was the same but their appearance was diferent. I didn't know copyrights existed and I wanted all fairytale characters to be homogeneous to Disney's version xD

When I was watching reruns of "Smurfs" on Cartoon Network when I was 4, I always thought that Vanity Smurf was a girl because he was very feminine (like that pink flower in his hat). Now I'm 13, and I still watch Smurfs on Boomerang and I realize that Vanity's no chick, he's just a gay guy!
