When I was very young I had a conversation about the origin of gremlins with my grandfather after seeing the Gremlins film. He told me that in WWII the army and air force reported that gremlins destroyed their equipment and somehow were affiliated with the japanese. A few weeks later, now convinced that gremlins truly existed I was sitting in the bench area of a local mall. An old man gave me a few pennies to through into a water fountain and make a wish. I told him he can keep his change, 'I only throw gremlins in fountains' (after the mildly traumatic climax of the film).
I use to think that everytime I watched a video there were little people in the video tapes preforming or doing something to make the movie run. And when I watched Waynes World about once a day, I was working them to hard.
when i was little i used to share a room with my sister. she had a poster from the movie "the crow" and i was terrified of it. i was always afraid that when i turned the lights out he would come out of the poster and try to kill me. i rarely slept with the lights off....
When I was 9 years-old in 1997, my friends and I were obsessed with the Spice Girls and their movie SpiceWorld. In reality the movie is totally fictional, but for some reason we thought it was a real non-fiction documentary.
We also used to think that Sporty Spice and Posh Spice were the same person (I guess we never questioned how they could be in the same scene together if they were the same person) ha ha
I used to believe that actors were people that were suicidal, and the stunts were real. I didn't believe in special affects. Yeah...
when I was younger, I use to watch scary movies, and when they were over I always thought the thing from the movie would come out of the tv and try to eat me
i once had a friend who went to see a lianardo decaprio movie, and in the end the character which he played died. my friends husband was sitting next to a girl who started to cry. then he leaned over and said to her, ( jokingly) " you know, he actually did die in real life". and that just made the girl bawl even harder. boy, did he feel bad after that!
When I was very small, Dad took us to a drive-in movie where Ivanhoe was playing. It was my first knowledge of 'knights in armor'. My brother and I were so impressed, we stopped playing cowboys and Indians and began a new game. But we didn't know what to call ourselves. I asked Dad (who wasn't very impressed by the movie), "Dad, What was Ivanhoe"? Dad said, "He was a goon". We played 'goons' until I was about twelve.
When I was about four I watched Labyrinth and was scared silly. Whenever anybody said the words 'I wish' I would run away screaming, thinking the Goblin King would come along.
I used to belive that when they would flim movies and the charectar in the movie would grow up Like get older and older (jump ages) they would wait years to flim the rest of the movie because they would have to wait till they got older
When I was really little, I thought that when you were going to put a video in, you would have to call the actors so they could get ready to do the show for you!
i used to believe that all the movies were real life stories so i asked my mom how come one actress is a detecive in one movie, a reporter in another movie and a student in another movie.
I used to belive that actors only simulate their kiss, and that they don't touch their lips, that the kiss was a visual effect!
When I was about 7, I thought that The Wizard of Oz just went from black and white to color and back again. It wasn't until a few years later, when watching the movie again, that I realized Dorothy went over the rainbow and that's why everything is in color.
I was absolutely horrified by the pink elephants in Dumbo when i was little. Why? Because of the part where they marched around the border of the screen! That obviously meant they KNEW they were in a movie, and since they had supernatural powers, what was going to stop them from coming out?!
Oh and they had no eyes. Things without eyes that still can see has always been scary.
This is not mine, but my boyfriend's. We were watching TV when an advert came on for the Charlotte's Web movie. He watched with surprise, and said to me at the end "Ohhh, so Charlotte is a spider!" I asked him who else he thought would have a web. Anyway, it turns out he thought that Charlotte was the little girl, who had spun a web of lies and deceit. For years he's been unable to understand why that would make such a great childrens' book. Bless...
when i was like 8 and i saw "sweet home alabama " the dvd said "rese witherspoon" i went to the kitchin and got a spoon and watch the movie with it, lol
When I was little, I used to think that when a person died in a movie or TV show, the actor actually had to die like that for the shot.
I used to believe that if I saw a horror movie, the characters in that film would be with me at night and were going to make me the same that they did to their victims in the film, so always I waited that my parents went to sleep and if I couldn't fall asleep at that moment, I would listen to music but there were occasions when I opened my eyes and I saw strange figures, so I turned on the light and it was just bad-off clothes or things.
Nowadays I'm 18 and if I see an horror movie, it's going to be the same, I'm going to think the same, so I prefer not to watch these movies.
I used to believe that cinema movies were filmed live behind the screen and all the time I went to see behind the screen to check if it had the set at the back and I could see the actors and actresses.
