When I was little I used to believe that everything that happened in movies was real. Specifically in Titanic I thought Leonardo Dicaprio had actually died and I was so sad, cause I thought he was cute.
When I was little the Carry On films were the most risque television that my siblings and I were allowed to watch at home. At the time, all the innuendo and tight clothing and cleavage seemed very grown-up to me. So much so, in fact, that when I was having a video-party (bet they dont have those anymore) for my 11th birthday and my friends wanted to know what we were watching, I mentioned some of those films. Most of them hadnt heard of them and seemed more interested in what age rating they were, so I confidently told them they were at least a 12, maybe even a 15. My proud bubble was burst when one girl chimed in "No they're not, they're only a PG!" No one seemed very impressed after that, and suffice to say I rented some cool modern films for the party!
I used to believe that one of the cinema workers sat where the projector is and got paid to sit and watch the whole film so he could fix the machine quickly if anything went wrong. I think I got this from seeing a guy's head above the projector when I looked up there once. Maybe there was a problem with the machine at the start of the film or something and he was checking it?
Anyways, seeing him led me to believe they have to sit up there through the whole film.
When i was about 5ish, the first time i watched titanic i truly believed that Kate Winslet was the character in the story. This belief went on until i saw it a second time (god knows how much time passed) and mentioned it too my family. they all laughed, i was so mad with shame.
I used to believe that if you made a movie film, the pictures would be kept in a pretty coloured envelope just like still photographs, except that the content of each picture would keep moving according to the piece recorded by the camera. For some reason, I never associated a home-made movie with a movie of the kind seen in a cinema.
when i was young,i used to believe that everytime a movie is screened on tv, the whole set for the movie is put up again and again and the actors enact again and again whenever the movie is screened
When I was little I believed that old movies were in black and white, because the world used to be black and white.
I used to believe that every movie was someones favourite. All the way up until Meet the Spartans came out.
When I first saw the films Tron and In the Mind's Eye (something like that), I thought the 3d graphics were awesome!
I hate myself now...
