i thought that when a band came on the radio that they had been shrunk down in order to fit into a radio & be broadcast in homes. i remember trying to take off the face of the radio to see if i could see through it to the beatles. my little fantasy was blown when my sister was on the radio when she was asked a question at a basketball game. i was suspicious that she wouldn't let herself be shrunk so i asked her when she got home... she laughed for quite a while.
--I was sure that the sounds coming out of our stereo speakers were made by little men who lived inside the stereo cabinet. i was really excited because I thought the Monkees lived in there. I used to talk to them through the speaker. "I love you Davey. No, I love peter. No wait, Mickey."
I didn't know about radio stations - I always thought that radios knew who was listening to them, and played what that person liked.
My mom always listened to oldies' in the car. I didn't have my own radio until I was 11. This is when I found out there was more than one radio station!
when the song the 'entertainer' came on the car radio, I believed there was a complete orchestra inside actually playing the song.
The truck we had when I was little had an old radio with knobs for the volume and tuning. I thought the volume knob was remotely connected to the people's noses and turning the knob twisted their noses, therefor making them yell louder.
When I was about 8, I used to think there was a little band inside radio speakers, and everything on the radio was live.
When I was about six or seven I used to listen to the radio a lot. Then I wondered where the music came from. I used to think that there was little people singing in the radio and every time I went in the car I would turn the radio on and off and look into the speakers. I also thought why would people want to see famous people if you can see them in the speaker? It made no sense......
I used to believe that when I listened to songs over the radio it was the artist singing their song to that specific radio station . I think they must have gotten so tired singing all days!.
This isn`t really my belief, but my son`s. He was four years at that time, and had just got a small radio. Many times, ha asked me to open the radio, but he didn`t tell me why, until one day... Then he said: Mama, please open the radio, I want to see the little man inside it! I asked, what little man? He said: The man who is sitting inside the radio, talking and singing, I want to see him, can`t we let him out now?
I used to believe there were little people and whole tiny orchestras inside the speakers of my parents' stereo. How else could the voices and music come from them??
When I was young I had a very old fashioned radio that my dad gave to me.....and I used to think that all of the music and radio dj's were being broadcast from many years ago......I didn't realise that old radios could pick up modern broadcasts?????
When I was about 5 or 6, I used to believe that when I turned the radio off, then back on again later, it would carry on playing where it left off. After all when I did it quickly it did, and if I left it a while I couldn't remember what was on before anyway...
Or maybe they just had a really short playlist back then
I used to think a little man lived inside the radio. So I would always look into the speaker box to try to find him. I had no idea that these people were actually in a studio.
That inside the car radio were a quartet of very little men in red-and-white vertical striped suits with straw hats and canes, and they were singing (in harmony) the tunes I was hearing come out of the speaker. They were dancing too, though why I don't know, since I couldn't see them. Sometimes my invisible friend Fudda was one of them.
I used to believe that there was a bunch of little people that lived in the radio. I would always be afraid to turn it up too loud because i didn't want them to have to scream and get sore throats. If we were going on long trips I would insist that my parents turn off the radio every so often to give the people inside a break. I was about four or five when my mom finally figured out why i didn't like the music too loud.
when i was about 3-4 i belived that the singers , dj's etc were tiny tiny people talkin to us or playing music and every so often i would talk into the speakers and say "are you ok in there?"
when i was small we listened to the rugby on the wireless (radio) with our father the all blacks in south africa i coul not understand how that many people could fit inside that small radio
I also believed there were little people playing music in my parents radio until one day I took it apart-I thought I killed them.
I never got another one.
When I was younger I believed when you turned on the radio people were singing live to me and only me, when my friend asked me if I had heard Down town I said yes, so did many other people I thought WOW this singer must have sung this song more then 1,000,000 tines a day
