When I was little, I believed that the songs I heard on the radio were all live. I wondered how the bands could go from one station to another in time to sing on both stations.
I used to wonder how they managed to fit the orchestra into the radio station.
I used to think that the records played on the top 40 station were actually the bands playing live, over ad over again, even though I knew about 45s and had my own Beatles records. I just had this image of the band waiting expectantly in the studio, waiting for someone to give the signal after a commercial so they could start playing again. (I never figured out how the band could be in so many radio stations at once).
As a kid, every time a song was played on the radio I thought that the band were playing live in the studio. So I thought'when I grow up I'm going to wait outside the radio station and see them all.'
I used to believe that when you heard a song on the radio, the singer or group was AT the radio station, right then, performing the song "live". After their song was over, they had to hurry up and get out of the way so the next singer or group could sing their song. During the commercials they all took a break!
I used to believe that when you called the radio station and requested a song, that they had to get the people that sang the song to come to the station and sing it.
Whenever I listened to the radio, I used to think that each band came into the radio station, one at a time, played their song, and left. As I grew a little older, that theory was changed by my thinking that ALL of the bands were in the studio, but played their one song and then left...
when i was a kid and listened to the radio i thought all the bands were in the studio playing live so id just imagine liek 50 bands chillin in a room smokin cigs and drinkin coffee and when it was their turn to play the dj would come out and tell them to come in and play
also i used to be scared of that "my bicycle" song by queen cuz it reminded me of the wtich from wizard of oz
I used to believe that when i heard a song on the radio that the people singing it were actually there in the studio and after they finished singing they would go to the next town to perform their song on the radio and so on. Guess they all would have got pretty tired hey.
When I was a kid I thought all the music played on the radio was live. I never could understand how all those bands could fit into the radio station and be ready to play their music sooooo fast. (AM radio, WIFE, Indianapolis, circa 1963)
I used to believe that when songs were played on the radio they were all being played live... alot of my time was spent thinking about how in the world the guitarist and singer and drummers could fit in one tiny recording room like that...
i used to believe that every time i listened to the radio, the bands were actually playing at the station at that moment. At some point, i came up with the hypothesis that bands were lined up ahead of time and so they would shuffle one band into the station right after another was finished.
I thought that every song that was played on the radio was live. It never occurred to me that they played records in the studio until I heard a song skip one day.
when i was about 4 or 5 years old my mom and dad always had the radio on to pop music. I thought all the performances were live on the station and the singer or group was in the studio every time their song was played.
When we listened to music on the radio, I believed that the musicians were at the radio station. I was quite confused when my parents changed stations & they were also singing or playing on another station.
My parents thought that was quite funny.
I use to believe that the people that sang on the radio would sing the same songs over and over again. That they were at the radio station singing there songs. I use to wonder if they ever got tired.
I used to believe that all the music played on the radio was played live by the bands. I realize a lot of little kids have this belief. However, there is a local radio station that actually does have bands come in all the time and play live--sometimes several bands back-to-back. So a lot of us weren't that far off! :-)
I used to believe when I was little, that the music I heard on the radio were live bands playing. After every song, another group would play.
I used to listen to the radio a lot when i was little, and always used to believe that all the bands and singers went into the DJ's studio and performed one song live and then moved out for the next artist. WOW! World's biggest live concert, Sherlock!!
I used to think that the music played on the radio was played by the bands themselves, live, in the studio all the time. This happens regularly now, but back THEN it didn't. I thought the all came in and out really fast and Sonny Melendrez was just totally efficient about the whole thing.
