I used to believe that if you broke open the TV and climbed inside you would be transported to the place that was being shown on the TV at the time.

I used to think that Dana Carvey was a woman. I had only heard the name Dana as a woman's name, and the first time I saw Dana Carvey was in a Wayne's World commercial (as the long-haired Garth), so I assumed that he was a woman. I held this believe for at least 3 years, until I saw the "Best of Dana Carvey" episode of SNL.

When I was around four years old, I thought that the television worked on the same principle as the cassette tape player. If you wanted to see a certain show (ex: Speed Racer), you had to leave the television on until it got to that show. Then you could either watch the show, or turn the televison off to "save" the show to watch later. It didn't take me long to figure out that this wasn't how it worked.

family story: when i was a baby my dad had a little show on telly. we were watchin the first ep together, and i was sitting on the floor next to my dad. when he appeared on the screen, i was amazed at his being in two places at once, but soon abandoned the real one for TV dad because on screen his face was bigger !

when I was 4 or five I used to believe that canned laughter on sitcoms was your own laughter recorded from a little micro phone in the television. I didn't understand half the jokes on the shows but when that canned laughter hit I laughed along as loud as I could to make sure it made it on the program.

When I was a kid, I believed that every show had its own channel, so I'd say something like "Turn it to Sesame Street!!!" whenever I felt like watching that show, and it REALLY confused me that sometimes, it wasn't on any of the channels, so I was afraid it had disappeared forever. Then I figured out that TV shows are scheduled to be on at certain times, lol.

When I was in primary school a blind man came in to give talk to us and I somehow got the idea that he'd gone blind through falling asleep in front of the TV. For years afterwards I was terrified of even closing my eyes in front the television for fear of going blind!

When I was six, my grandpa was reading the tv guide, telling me what shows would be on later. I couldn't figure out for the life of me how people knew AHEAD of time what was going to be on!

I had a very vivid and strong imagination as a kid. In my kitchen there used to be a big table with a very long table cloth over it. So me and my brother used to go under it and lean against the wall and watch tv from the tablecloth. I have no idea how I somehow created tv from the tablecloth but we would talk about we were watching too... wierd hell yeh

I believed that the way t.v shows were made was that every household was being filmed all the time. So I thought that maybe my family was on t.v. somewhere.

I used to believe that people on TV used to somehow get shrunk then queue up inside the cable to await their turn. I always wondered how they got inside the plug.

I used to believe that if you sat to close to the T.V. to long your eye sockets would pop out and stick to the T.V like super- glue. Needless to say when my dad said back-up from the T.V., I listined. The dumb thing is that i believed this untill i was about 7 years old
