As a child of around 4, my father was a TV repairman, and one day he brought home a new TV manufactured by Marconi. Soon after, a relative commented on the Marconi, and I indignantly retorted "It's not your Coney, it's Dad's Coney!"

i used to believe that if you pressed the right buttons on the remote, that you could be zapped into the televison, and that you could take whatever you wanted from the people and bring it back with you. i always wanted to be zapped into full house. or the toy's r us commercials, anything interesting to me.

When i was little I asked my mum how people got onto the TV screen and my mum told me the screen was made up of lots of little dots. So I thought that the people on tv weren't real people, that they were just a lot of random dots that the tv had made.

When i was about 6 or 7 in the 70's, my dad was a TV engineer so we were the first on our street to get a video recorder(old clunky V2000 if anyone remembers them). The instructional video for recording in advance showed a hand coming out of the VCR and pressing the 'record' button. Dad told me this was real but only worked if you were out of the house and being a gullible kid unused to technology i believed him! I used to set the video, go out and try and sneak a peek through the window to spot the phantom hand!

I used to think if you left your tv on at night that the people or cartoons would come out. One night I stayed up to see if I was right. I was mad that they were still on the screen.

When I was younger I thought that after I went to sleep the TV wouldn't be on anymore like there just wouldn't be any shows on just static.

I could never figure out how people appeared on TV. Me and my sister used to always hide behind the TV trying to see if we could be seen on the TV. I believed that for so many years that when I saw an operation on TV, I was afraid they were actually doing it in our living room!

Okay, you need to follow this one kinda close: When my sister was about 22, she and three other girls decided to move in together into an apartment. Well, one girl said she had a couch they could use. Another said she had a breakfast table. The other girl said they could use her microwave. My sister chimed in, "I'll bring my TV, it has cable."

Before the introduction of colour TV in the UK, the invention was previewed on a topical BBC science show, Tomorrows World. At the end of the show to give the impression of what colour TV might look like (remember Im viewing on a black & white TV set) they displayed the closing titles using a noise pattern to give the optical illusion of colour. For years until my parents got a real colour TV I expected to be able to see full colour TV pictures on the old black & white TV.

when i was a kid, i believed that there were little actors in video tapes. and when ever you stopped or paused the tape they would stop where they were and jus sit there, waiting for you to press the play button.

I used to believe that people in the TV were performing live all the time and I used to wonder how they got inside the TV and how they knew when I wanted to watch them.

I used to believe that when you turned on the TV or put on a video, the little characters actually came into the TV and were performing, and once I asked my mom if the characters would come out and I would get to meet them if I smashed the TV screen.

When I was younger my dad told me that when we turned off the television, all the little people inside would come out through the back of the telly, then wait for you to turn it back on again and jump back inside. The amount of I wasted waiting for this to happen!!

I used to think that "To Be Announced" was a TV show. It's all over the TV listings. It had a religious sound to it and religious programming was often repeated at night (often when "To Be Announced" was on).

When I was 6, and my family was watching a show I didn't like, I would sit on the floor in front of the tv and cover my face with my knees, and i thought no one else in the room couldn't see the tv either. lol. i was nuts.
