I use to think that tv was real and during commercials they would stand very still so they'd be in the same spot. And all the actors had twins that would live on another channel. And I thought they were watching me on their tvs

When I was a little girl my father was on TV and radio a lot. Most of his broadcasts were live. Whenever I would hear or see him I would understand he would be at work. Which in my opinion was being inside a radio or TV. It started getting really confusing when there were prerecorded broadcasts and he would be sitting next to me...

I used to believe when I was young that If you were watching a program and turned off the tv the program would pause. But to my dismay after dinner my favourite tv show was over...now I waste electricity keeping the tv on.

My father had (and he still does) a huge collection a videos, that he recorded himself and labelled very carefully with those he found and cut in those video magazines. And he would keep the old ones, in case he could use them again... Well, as a very little kid, I thought that the movie on the video depended on the label on the box! so one day, I changed the label of one the videos, excpecting to get my favourite musical on.... it didn't and I cried of disapointment, while my mother was looking at me, appaled to have akid obsessed with videos

I was exposed to violent movies at a young age so whenever someone would get shot, I thought that somekind of magic poison blood would come out of the gun and kill the person... nice thought for a 5 year old, huh?

When I was little I came home from primary school (I'm in Scotland by the way) and I asked saw my dad watching a programme that had been on the night before. Not realising that this had been recorded on a video I asked some time later if he could rewind the TV for me too, so I could watch my favourite childrens show! When my dad told me that you couldn't rewind telly I couldn't understand how people could live without this highly important feature I believed televisions had!

I used to believe that if you were watching a cartoon on TV, that it was okay to turn it off if you had to go out with your mum or something, because when you got home later, you could just turn the TV on and the cartoon would continue from where you left it before! (This was long before video recorders were invented!)

when i was smaller like 3 or 4, i don't believe there's actors/actress on tv, unless i see them in reality. I always see them as robots.

I used to believe that all commercials on every channel were in English, even on the Spanish channels...until I watched it one day.

This is a belief I shared. There's a TV show called "Tots TV" and in the intro, a boy says, "I'm a tot" and then a girl says this French phrase. Well, not only me, but actually at least two people on the Internet thought she was saying, "And she's a tot" and apparently a lot of people still do think she's saying that because that wrong lyric pops up on Google Autocomplete!

The weird part is, she's the only female tot on the show, so if she was singing that, it would make no sense!

I thought that Love Island was filmed on a tiny island, and the show took up the entire island.
Yeah just build your villa for your bad-quality show on this tiny remote island.

When I was 10 years old I really like to watch television, sometimes I stayed very late at night watching it but once they caught my attention that I no longer saw why it was bad for my eyes but I did not, my mother got angry and told me that when I sleep I would take a demon for watching a lot of television
