As soon as Bruce Banners eyes started to change I'd hide behind the couch incase the Incredible Hulk would get me.
Sometimes I'd be behind the couch for over half an hour as our regular baby-sitter would tell me that he "wasn't back to normal yet".
top belief!
My husband believed as a child that there was a television series called "To Be Announced" and that it was just a random sort of a show, different actors, different subjects, different times.
I used to think that all shows were live, and when a re-run was on the actors had to do the whole entire show over again. I remember watching Three's Company and thinking Jack did this before.
Our house was the second house on the street. Our road and housing development continued further back than I was permitted to venture at the tender age of 3 or 4. My teenage brother told me that if you went far enough down our road past the turn, you'd get to Sesame Street. Of course, my brother knew everything, so I believed him. We moved away from that house when I was 5. To this day I don't know what was down past that turn in our road, but at least I now know that Big Bird lives all the way out in California, not Maryland!
I used to believe that deadly snakes lived in the wall of my bathroom. I saw the animated show Rikki Tikki Tavi when I was a child which was about a family who had cobras living in the wall in their bathroom. They needed a mongoose to protect them from the cobras and I just thought that every house had deadly snakes living inside the walls. I would never get out of bed to use the bathroom during the night. Great show for kids to watch, huh?
I used to beleive that in the movies or on TV when they kissed on tv that they put parchment paper..or foil or somthing like that on each of the people lips so they didn't have to touch each others lips.
I used to believe that “Jim'll Fix It” was the guy's name (first name, Jim'll, surname Fixit). I thought it was an incredible coincidence that his name fitted so well with the theme tune from his show, "Jim'll Fixit for you, and you, and you, and you...)
For some reason, I thought Siskel and Ebert was a show starring 2 sisters, so my little sister and I would play "Siskel and Ebert", and we'd have all these adventures. It was fun
Up until about 9 months ago, I believed that the people like Maria and Luis on Sesame Street were real people not characters being played by actors. Amazing what you can learn when you have a child of your own!!
I used to have a crush on Alan Alda, on M.a.s.h., and when I went to bed one night,I placed a handwritten sign on my window that said"Alan Alda, come here",so that he could find my house.
On Dukes of Hazzard, I used to think that Roscoe P. Coltrane's real name was "Roscoe Peekotrain". I also wondered why the hell Bo & Luke didn't look like Bo & Luke anymore and changed their names to Coy & Vance. Not to mention the guy who would sometimes narrate the show...I wondered why you could only hear him and not see him. It was also quite some time before I found out who General Lee was. After all, it wasn't like KITT on Knight Rider; General Lee could not tell anyone its name.
Man, kindergarteners are so oblivious.
I used to the ALF (the alien from Melmac) was real, and that he ate cats because they were evil and he was trying to save the world.

Back in the early-80s when I was in kindergarten, one of my very favourite TV shows was Knight Rider. Back then my parents had a 1974 Chevy Camaro that I absolutely loved (when my father decided to trade it for a butt-ugly pick-up truck I was rather upset). I would go outside and hang around the car, pretending not to pay attention to it but stealing glances every so often to see if I could catch it talking (beats me why I just didn't go up to it and ask, "hey, can you talk?", but acting like a spy was just so much more interesting at that age). I conducted this top-secret experiment a few more times until, with a heavy heart, I realized it was just a "normal" car.
I remember my parents not letting me watch "Laverne & Shirley" when I was in grade school - I thought it was some perv-sex-adult show. Little did I know they were trying to get me to sleep at 8:30pm.
When I was young, I used to watch Star Trek all the time, and until I was twelve, I thought that when I grew up there really would be transporters and space ships and the world would be just like it was in the show. When I realized that I was not going to go to space and visit other worlds, I was very dissapointed!!!
I used to think "The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air" was actually a prince and one day he had to go to court for some parking tickets(or whatever) and I remember thinking "he can't get in trouble, he's the Prince!"
I remember crying every time the show, Lassie went off because I thought the credits hurt her (Lassie), and the whistling music made it even worse.
When i was a toddler, I used to spend hours in front of the television watching Barney, Sesame Street, and Mr. Rogers. Then my mother would always tell me that my shows were fixing to go off and her shows (soap operas) were fixing to come on. Then she would change the channel to her soaps.
So naturally I just thought that there was only one channel on the television that played my shows for half of the day, and my mom's shows for the rest of the day.
Really it was just my mother not wanting to miss the next episode of her soap operas.

I used to think that everyone understood what trolley from Mr. Roger's Neighborhood was saying (dinging). I would get very upset and frustrated thinking I was the only one who did not understand. I would yell at the TV saying "What are you saying?"
When I was a kid in the 60's, we'd watch the Ed Sullivan Show. I remember being really confused because in the beginning, they'd say "Life from New York...The Ed Sullivan Show." Then at the end they'd say, "This show has been pre-recorded." When I pointed it out to my dad, he roared with laughter.
