When Neighbours was first shown twice a day, I felt sorry for the residents in Ramsey Street for repeating their lives 4 hours later. It was only when Scott and Charlene's wedding, I realised that the show was recorded. Having the same 2 weddings on the same day must have been costly.

When I was little I was in love with Alvin, from The Chipmunks cartoon. I wanted to marry him, and I spent many hours figuring out the best way to tell my parents I was in love with a cartoon.

The host on the old "Howdy Doody" children's show was called "Buffalo Bob." When I first saw the show, I thought his name was "Baklava."

I'm not sure if this is a Canada only show (Polkadot Door), but I only 4 years ago figured out that Polkaroo was played by the other host on the show...I thought he just had terrible luck and he would always leave right before Polkaroo would come in. (by the way, I am 27)

I used to believe - due to my dad and sisters that "Lassie" - the dog on the TV series was in fact a boy in a dog costume. Hmmm

There used to be a wonderful TV programme called "Animal Magic" presented by Johnny Morris, who dressed as a zoo keeper and talked to animals. I was in my thirties before I found out he wasn't really a zoo keeper.

Back in the 60s, at the end of the "Dragnet", they would always show the criminal while a voice-over said, "Fred Johnson is now serving a life sentence..." I didn't realize they were actors. When I saw that same actor on "Star Trek" or something, I always thought, "Wow! He robbed a bank, and now he's on 'Star Trek'!" (I didn't think any other TV characters were real, just "Dragnet's" criminals, because they always said it was a true story.)

I believed that an apartment building up the street from us was where they filmed the Mickey Mouse Club TV show. (It was VERY tall to a 6 year old...maybe 6 stories.)I didn't realize that the TV station was showing 15-20 year old re-runs of the show. I was convinced they were filming 4 blocks from my house and kept trying to convince my mom to take me there so i could be on the show.

The captains log on Star Trek was really a small tree offcut with the captains thoughts chiselled into it and anyone who thought different is wrong.

My ex-husband told me that when he was younger he used to go into the cupboard in the corner of his bedroom and wait for the "shopkeeper" to come and provide him with an outfit, just like Mr Ben. Surprisingly this never happened :-)

I used to believe that Cookie Monster really ate cookies. When I got older, I knew he couldn't eat them but I thought he had a hole in his mouth that you couldn't see (his mouth is black) and that he crumbled up the cookies and brushed the crumbs into the hole. I was skipping class one day a couple of years ago and flipped on the TV. Their was Cookie Monster trying to eat a Converse All Star high top sneaker. I was so devastated to find out that I was wrong. He crumbled up the shoe and when he thought no one was looking, he threw it under the counter. I saw it though! I can't believe that Cookie was lying to us all those years. He doesn't eat the cookies at all! He just crumbles them up and brushes them out of his mouth! It's horrible!

I used to believe that the Oscars were a pagan ritual aired on TV to try and get new members. Therefore, I was always afraid of the actors I saw recieving awards, because I thought they had become one of them and were now trying to get me to become a pagan as well by using subliminal messages whenever I watched a movie with them in it.

My sister informed me that Eastenders was filmed in the West end and that it was just called "Eastenders" I argued the point but lost, so I spent a number of years under this apprehension, before ridiculing myself in front of some friends by trying to justify my knowledge.....sister eh!

I used to think that laugh tracks on sitcoms were the laughter of all the people watching the show, so i used walk up to the speakers on the tv and say stupid things to see what would happen. :)

When I was about eight, my parents were coming to bed at night and found me sitting by the front door, fully dressed. They asked me why I was there and not in bed, I said I was waiting for Superted and Spotty to come and get me because they needed my help with a mission. I honestly believed that!
