I used to tell my Mom I was going to take the "Love Boat" to "Fantasy Island".
One time when I was a little girl, my dad came in and turned of the TV while I was watching it. Upset at him, I said, "I wish Charlie Brown was my dad!"
I used to think that some television shows were real. That they were merely people being filmed without knowing it. My idea was stolen though. They now call that "Reality Tv" not the Brady Bunch.....
My brother used to believe (and insist) that "Family Feud" was really called "Family Feudge" (pronounced "fyooj"). I don't remember when he finally came clean about it.
For some reason, I thought Siskel and Ebert was a show starring 2 sisters, so my little sister and I would play "Siskel and Ebert", and we'd have all these adventures. It was fun
My brother used to think that you could scadoo into books and t.v. shows like in blues clues and so ever since then I alwasys think how cool it would be if we could.
As a child watching Mama's Family, I truly believed the Mama was an old woman acting on tv. I NEVER knew that Mama was actually Vicki Laurence!
Everytime I saw Oscar the Grouch pull something out of his trashcan, I wanted to get inside of it. I knew it had to be huge, a trash can mansion, and I wanted to see what else he had.
I used to believe when a show was on people were filming it right then.LOL!
I used to think that Madame Giselle from Peppa Pig had pink blush on one cheek, and brown blush on the other. I always wondered why she used 2 different blush colours instead of just one colour. Then my mom told me that the brown part is her nose, not blush.
Not my belief, but my son's. He's 3. He watches Blue's Clues religiously, and one night, thought that he could 'ski-doo' into a picture, just like blue and Steve. It was the middle of the night when he first tried this. I woke up to him singing the 'ski-doo' jingle, two seconds of silence, then about a half-hour of crying and trying to explain to him that he can't ski-doo!
A former colleague used to believe that the title of the show "Jim'll Fix It" referred to the presenter's name. He thought the show was presented by a guy called Jimall Fixit.
When I was very small (3 years), I would only catch bits and pieces of M*A*S*H as my mother and grandmother watched. I knew there was a character called Radar, and I figured it must be the one who dresses up like a woman, because he'd be able to sneak up to the enemy in all of his disguises.
20 years later, M*A*S*H is still one of my favorite shows of all time
I used to watch "The Gary Gnu Show" religiously. They had a character on there named Speed Reader. I thought he actually was reading as fast as it looked like he was.
I used to believe that the power rangers were real and every time they fought, it was really going on.
I used to believe my mom was Roseanne. She doesn't even really look like Roseanne, but we always watched it and they were both chubby with brown hair, so it just made sense to me. I also used to believe that ratings on movies (such as "R" or "G") referred to where they were made. I can't imagine why.
i used to believe klingon was spelled kinglion.
I used to believe that you could jump into the TV show and interact in the cartoon world, like in Channel Chasers.
Because the teacher's name in Clifford is Mrs. Carrington, I assumed every fictional female authority figure had the last name "Carrington" by default. So I thought Vee from Chuggington's full name was "Bea (I misheard her first name) Carrington".
I used to believe Sesame Street was an actual place, and that the Muppets were real, and if one were to learn their ABCs and their numbers, one could become worthy of visiting Sesame Street. By the time I got down counting one to twenty, wherever I went I was hoping I'd magically find Sesame Street just around the next corner...
