My mum used to call those all-in-one sleep suits "wombles" in some bizarre attempt to get me, my brother and my sister to wear them. ("The wombles" was a big tv show for kids at the time). I never realised that there was any other name for them until the tender age of 22 when I called one a womble infront of a large group of friends... Seven years later, I still haven't heard the end of it
When I was little and I watched shows like the Golden Girls or Family Matters, and the audience laughed, I used to think they were upside down in the TV or something.
I was a young adult before I finally realized that, at the end of Hogan's Heroes, you're seeing Col. Hogan's hat on top of the spike of Col. Klink's spiked helmet. Until then, it had always appeared to be some weird kind of hat or helmet I'd never seen before.
