there's this commercial that they recently played a lot on cartoon network. It advertises a compilation album of love songs. And my daughter, who watches cartoon network a lot (she's six), was particularly smitten with one song. She'd sing it - or at least the part from the commercial - all the time. And one day she asked me to buy that song for her. "Daddy, I want you to get me Osamio Lady." "Osami lady?" I asked. And then she sang it to me. I recognized it from the commercial, but I realized that I didn't know what it really said either. My girlfriend finally cleared things up for us. The song is "Cause I'm your lady" by Celine Dion.

I firmly used to believe that in the song "Voices carry", they were actually sining 'Mrs. Carrey', and I always wondered why Mrs Carrey got a song.
Later I thought that they said 'This is Gary', so I thought the song was about some person introducing her friend Gary.

My best friend still believes that the Rolling Stones were singing "I'll never be your big suburban" instead of "I'll never be your beast of burden".

In the Prince song, Sign 'O' The Times, during the part where he sings 'At home there are seventeen-year-old boys
And their idea of fun', I was concvinced he was actually saying, 'At home there are 17 or so boys, and they are all deformed'

Also, in the Janet Jackson song 'Escapade', listening to it when i was perhaps 6 or 7 and was completely oblivious to the existance of such a word, I would happily sing along 'Nes-Ca-Fe, we'll have a good time, Nes-Ca-Fe, leave your worries behind'

I used to believe that the UK's national anthem included the line "Send her Victoria's" instead of "Send her victorious"
I was ever so curious as to what they were sending the Queen that belonged to Victoria!
"Mummmmmyyy,send her Victoria's WHAT???"

My cousin thought, when she first heard "Part of Your World" in The Little Mermaid, that instead of 'bright young women, sick of swimmin'...' it was 'pregnant women, sick of swimmin'...' We make fun of her for it to this day. ;D

When I was little the song "Material Girl" by Madonna was on the radio a lot. My hearing must not have been too keen, because for more years than I care to admit I thought the song was called "Cheerio Girl." I kept wondering what, exactly, made one a Cheerio girl : P

Years ago when I had my first job I worked with a girl who thought that McCartney's "Mull of Kintyre", was called "Bollocking Time". She actually went around singing that.

The first Madonna song I ever heard was "Material Girl" when I was 5. I thought she was singing "Cheerio Girl". I thought she was soo cool, because I was a girl and loved Cheerio's too.
