I was completely convinced that there was a line in the reggae song 'Now That We've Found Love' that goes 'make nasty soup soup soup, all over the place'. Now that I'm older, I hear the song on the radio sometimes and STILL can't hear exactly what the guy's singing. If I ever find out I'm afraid it won't be as good as mine.

I used to believe that in the song "My Sherona" they were actually saying "Rice-a-Rona."

When I was little my absolute favorite song was "My Eyes Of Georgia" by Frankie Valli. When someone told me I was singing it wrong and that the words were "my eyes adored you" I was perplexed. "My eyes adored you" didn't make a damn bit of sense to me.

The song "Controversy" by Prince came out when I was in elementary school. For the chorus, he just sings the word "controversy", but I used to think he was saying "cunt or pussy". I don't even think I knew what those words meant at the time!

Kenny Rogers tune about 'Lucille'...

"you picked a fine time to leave me Lucille, with four hungry children and a crop in the field..."

I couldn't figure out why Kenny was worried about the crops what with all of his 400 hundred children an all. Heck, with all that help, he should be done in NO time!

I used to believe that the Neil Diamond song "Forever in Blue Jeans" was about a guy named "Reverend BlueJeans." I only found out my mistake recently when I was watching a comedian on TV, who was joking that he used to think the same thing. I sat there perplexed for a few moments trying to figure out his joke.

Remember the song "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"... I always thought it was a cherry in the sky, and blamed Sesame Street.

I still think I'm right.

I used to believe that the lyrics in Manic Monday said "All of my life why did my mother have to kidnap Sacha Distel".
It was only while doing karaoke in the pub one night that I discovered the true lyrics were "All of the nights why did my lover have to pick last night to get down."

I now believe my lyrics are better.

In the song 'Rudolph the red nosed reindeer' there's a line '..you'll go down in history' and my brother and I waited impatiently for when we'd go down in Rudolph's story. My mother never explained what it really meant...
