While driving in the car with my friend a couple of years ago, "Play the Funky Music, White Boy." was playing, but I was always under the impression the it was "Play that Funky Music, Wise Guy." Ya, I've never been able to live it down she till laughs about it until this day.

In Paul Simon's song, "Still Crazy After All These Years", I used to think the line, "And I would not be convicted by a jury of my peers" was "And I would not be caught dead wearing jewelry in my ears."

I used to believe that the lyric to Anarchy in the UK by the Sex Pistols was
'I wanna destroy Piss supply'
the actual lyric is 'I wanna destroy passerby'

In the Green Day song, "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," when the singer says, "Sometimes I wish someone up there will find me," I thought he said "Sometimes I wish a grizzly bear will find me."

My younger brother Jack was born in Mosside in Manchester in the early eighties. A few years later, ther Eurythmics released the song 'Thorn in my side'. My brother went round singing "Born in Mosside, You know thats all you ever were", thinking the song was about him...

We use to have to sing that song "My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean" in elementary school. It troubled me everytime, because I swore that the song said "My Body Lies Over the Ocean." It's really kind of scared me.

in the jamiroquai tune
'Dance, nothing left for me to do but dance,
Off these bad times I'm going through just dance
Got canned heat in my heels tonight baby'

stupidly i thought the last line went

''got candy in my heels tonight big ben''
and a friend thought it was
''got candy in my ears tonight big breath''
!!!

I used to think that the song 'Row, Row, Row You Boat' said "life is pot a scream" instead of "life is but a dream." My da still teases me about that.

In the Greenday song "Holiday" i heard "Blay, blay, you're the broken cabinet" instead of "bang bang goes the broken glass and"

That song is REALLY hard to understand. Try it.

There is a part of the Canadian anthem that goes, "God keep our land/Glorious and free". For the longest time I thought that "Gloria Sanfree" was a great Canadian heroine, and I often wondered why we never learned about her in school.

I was looking at this website, and I saw a belief saying,

[I used to think that the 80's song
" I wish that I had Jesse's girl"
was
"I wish that I was Jesse's girl"
and I was so confused as to why a boy would want to be Jesse's girl.
Anon]

When I read that, I thought to myself, "Wait, they DON'T say 'I wish that I was Jesse's girl?'"
Wow, I was always confused about that too!
