I'm a child of the 80's/90's and loved Roxette. I knew all of the words - or so I thought - and would sing along all the time.
I recently found out that "I'm gonna get dressed for simon says" is really "I'm gonna get dressed for success" That makes more sense since the song is called Dressed for Success...

When I first heard "Here I Go Again" by Whitesnake, I totally misheard the lyrics. When he says, "'cos I know what it means to walk along the lonely street of dreams." I thought he was saying, "'cause I know what it means to walk alone, the lord is free to greive." Listen to it, you might hear it too! I was like, whaaa?

This is the absolute funniest, I swear!
When I was younger (@5-20 years old) I thought the lyrice to Pink Floyds "The Wall" were "The Dukes of Hazzards in the classroom." I later realized from @ age 20 on that this didn't make sense and somehow reasoned that the real lyrics must be "The doctors have us in the classrooms." Since then I kept this new belief along with my funny tale of misheard lyrics which I submitted to this site 10 minutes ago. Well, about 8 minutes ago, I found out that my "corrected" version was wrong too. It's actually, "No dark sarcasm in the classroom." LOL!

I used to believe that In Pink Floyd's The Wall the lyrics were, "The Dukes of Hazard in the classroom." The actual lyrics are "The doctors have us in the classroom."

I am a very big 80's fan, so when the song "1985" came out by Bowling for Soup I was happy! BUT the part that goes "She was gonna shake her A** on the hood of whitesnake's car..." I totally misheard... I love whitesnake and now know that the real version is much better than "She was gonna shake her a** on the hood of my 6th car..."

in the greenday song ' watsername' the song goes "thought i ran into u down on the street/then it turned out to only be a dream" i was convinced it said "then it turned out to only be a freak!"
i still think my version sounds better.

When the song "Someday Out of the Blue" by Elton John came out, I loved it. Everytime it was on the radio, I would sing it as enthusiastically as possible. The only thing was that I got the chorus messed up.
The chorus actually goes:

"Someday out of the blue,
In a crowded street, or a deserted square,
I'll turn and I'll see you"

O (oh, so nobly) mis-sang:

"Someday out of the blue,
In a crowded street, or a deserted square,
I'll turn a Nazi in."

I used to think that the lyrics "just a special touch of paradise" were "just a special touch of parrots eyes". The song was sampled on an advert for Malaysia. I used to love that song, and imagined travelling to Malaysia and being able to pet the parrots. I decided I would be kind and not touch their eyes, though, because they probably didn't like that much.

I used to think that:

1) 'Louie Louie, oh no' was 'Do I? Do I? Oh no...'

and that:

2) 'On through the dead of night, with the four horsemen ride, or choose your fate and die' was 'On through the dead of night, we're the four horsemen right, so lose your faith and die!'

When I was little, I went to camp for a week. We sang songs every night, and I remember one in particular... part of the lyrics go, "And my father wants me wed..." (as in married). Well, I always heard- and sang- "And my father wants me dead..." One of the counselors overheard me and thought I had, and I quote, "some kind of problem."

I used to believe, until I was in my late 30's that on the song "Wild Horses" by the Rolling Stones that the first line said "Tired of Living is easy to do" and FINALLY learned that it says "Childhood livng is easy to do". OBVIOUSLY the first version makes absolutely no sense. What a dope and how embarrasing this was while I was belting it out at concerts and in the car at the top of my lungs!!!!!!!!!!
