I used to beleive that in Macy Gray's song "I Try" the chorus was "I try to say goodbye and I choke, Try to walk away and I stumble, Though I try to hide it, it's clear, I blow bubbles when you are not near" , and it used to sing it that way all the time. Now that I think about it, it sounds absolutely insane, but it sounded right at the time. I took me a few months to figure out that it was "My world crumbles when you are not there".
In Music by Madonna I used to sing Music makes the bourgouise live forever rather than music makes the bourgouise and the rebel.
I never did understand why it would only affect the rich!
In "Groovin' On a Sunday Afternoon," instead of
"Life could be ecstasy / You and me endlessly"
I thought it was ". . You and me and Leslie."
Not much of a come-on line, now that I think of it.
I used to think that Norah Jones sang "I waited 'til I saw the sun, don't know why I didn't cum" in the song "Don't Know Why"
I'm still not sure, but it seems very unlikely. :)
When I was about 7 my dad and I were driving and he was listening to a song titled "Dancing in the Summer Rain." After a lot of thought I turned to him and asked, "Dad, why is she so excited about dancing in the submarine?"
the song by Effiel 65 "I'm Blue" during the chorus i thought it said " im blue im need of a guy if i was green i would die im in need of a guy" instead of im blue da ba dee da be die
When i was younger i used to beleive that in the song another "brick in the wall" for the line "all in all it was all just bricks in the wall" went "all in all you were always breaking the law"
My friend's daughter used to love the song "Constant Craving" by KD Lang. Except she was about five at the time, so she'd run around the house singing, "Constant Gravy"
I used to the the song "Down in the Boondocks" was Down in the Boom box. I always imagined some guy living in a giant boombox out in a swamp.
And the song "Hang on Sloopy"... well I thought it was Hang on Stupid. I wondered why if she loved him why she called him stupid.
I thought Hey there Georgie Girl! was
Hey there George Eagle!
For years I wondered who George Eagle was and why there was a song about him.
When I was younger, Pearl Jam's song Glorified G, which contains the lyrics:
Glorified version of a pellet gun,
sounded like:
Glorified virginal olive oil...

OK, you know the song 'Killer Queen' (by Queen)? There is a line in the refrain 'Wanna try'.
Well, when I was very young and first heard this song, I thought it said 'What a drag' as in how boring.....of course, when I was older I held onto my version because it then seemed to make perfect sense that the song was about a drag queen.
I was only enlightened a few days ago - oops!
I used to think the song Bette Davis Eyes was called 'she's got better days besides'.
In Tim McGraw's song "Back When" my sister used to think it said, "don't you remember the piss in a pepper", not "fizz in a pepper". She couldn't understand why they would play that word on the radio!
Also, the Jimmy Buffet song "Fins" was confusing to my mother... she used to sing "Dance to the left, Dance to the right" when of course the phrase is "Fins to the left, fins to the right". I loe to make fun of her about this but she comes back with some of my own mistakes, which I will never admit here.

I was convinced that the line "Another Brick In The Wall" was 'no dogs or cats are in the classrooms' instead of 'no dark sarcasm'.
I was a big fan of KISS when I was young but I couldn't figure out why they had a thing against the police. In the song "God Of Thunder" the line is 'I gather darkness to please me', but I heard 'I gather darkness and police meat.'
I had a friend that used to believe the song "sad but true" actually said "sand machine"
There was a Craig David track on his first album, I can't remember what was the title though. The actualy lyrics was 'Pretty, young girl like that'.
But I don't know how, I heard 'Pretty umbrella man'. At least I got the pretty part right.
following on... from the song 'we built this city on rock n roll'. i thought they were singing 'we bulit this city on market row' which i still believe makes more sense.
my sister's very dingy friend use to think the lyrics "I get knocked down, and I get up again" from Tub Thumpin (cant spell) was actually "I get no tounge" soo funny
