I used to live in the Southern states and there was a soda named 'Mello Yello', when I heard Donovan's song "Mellow Yellow," I thought he was singing "They call me Mello Yello" and I stopped drinking Mello Yello forever.

The song "Mayberry" by Rascall Flatts. I always thought it was "i've been sleepin..." instead of "I miss Mayberry..." How dumb can ya get?!

I used to think the song "Englishmen In New York " which goes,
"I'm an alien,
I'm a legal alien;
I'm an Englishman in New York." was "I'm an idiot, im a leagal idiot, jumping in your yard"

When my sister and I where young, we used to sing in the 'Imagination' song 'Just an Illusion': 'pudding in je bek', what is Dutch for 'pudding in your mouth' instead of 'could it be that'.

In Dave Matthew's "Sattelite," the original line is "Winter's cold spring erases" but somehow, even though I was in college at the time, I convinced myself it was "Winter's Come, survey says..." No more Family Feud for me...

On the song "The Candle" by King Diamond at the beginning there's this 'chant' and i thought it said "Seven years of love And the candle mark can be left undone, the candle must burn again and planes must follow the holy fame so burn, burn, burn, and free the spirit from its Jane" but it really said "7 Years Have Gone, It Can No Longer Be Left Undone, the candle must burn again and pain must follow the unholy flame so burn, burn, burn, and free the spirit from its chain."

There was this song in the "Grease II" movie that Michelle Pfeiffer sang called "Cool Rider". there was this part in the song where she spelled the words COOL and RIDER...
I thought she was singing:
"I need a C-O-O-S, R-I-E-E-R"
I could never figure out what a Coos Rieer was.

In the Dawn classic, 'Tie a yellow Ribbon round the old oak tree' I thought one of the line was 'The scarlet fleas look for me' couldn't for the life of me think what scarlet fleas had to with it!! Of course the real line is 'Bus driver, please look for me' I was very young at the time!

when britney spears song 'baby, one more time' came out first, my sister thought the words 'oh baby baby' were really 'um buy them, buy them' and insisted on singing it at the top of her voice!!

needless to say she was embarassed when i proved that it was in fact wrong!!

My dad loved Randy Travis, so when we were in the car listening to "Digging Up Bones" I'd sing digging up phones and proceeded to make diggin and phone gestures
Also we used to think (amongst EVERYONE else) that Bachman Turner Overdrive Revved up like a Deuce was Wrapped up like a DOUCHE!
I still sing it that way!!

I have to thank my 4 year old sister, Allison, for this one. You know the song "Old McDonald Had a Farm"? Well she thinks it goes "Old Mcdonald Paddle Far". My mom and I have tried to correct her many times but she can't hear the difference between "had a farm" and "paddle far" so she still sings it like that. I have to say, it's really cute though.
