Remember the song "Out of Reach" by Gabrielle? Well my horrible elder brother convinced me that she wasnt' singing "out of reach" but was singing "Valerie".....and I was caught singing Valerie in public.....lol...

I thought that the line in The Beatles' Get Back "I loathed that sweater" in fact it is "low necked sweater"

My most favorite song by Elton John, "Someone Saved My Life Tonight", was one of many songs I sang wrongly.
In one verse, I sang "And stricken by a harlot's social scene, just a pawn I paid five dollar and eighty quid", when it was "I'm strangled by your haunted social scene, just a pawn out-played by a dominating queen."
...Luckily I now have a book of lyrics to help correct me.

i thought the tiffany song, "I think we're alone now" was sooo risque... I heard the words "holding on to one night stands" instead of "holding on to one another's hands"!

There's one part in the Metallica remake of Whiskey In A Jar that I can't quite understand, but I think it sounds like 'your brains will come home in a jar.'

I thought the words to "When I come around" by Green Day was "When I caught a red hound"--- not horrible, it fits perfectly, just doesn't make much sense with the rest of the lyrics

In the song "I'm every woman" I wasn't sure what the words were, so I made up my own version called "Climb every mountain" and it makes sense with the next lyric "it's all in me"

I would sing out the lyrics to Creedence Clearwater Revival song, Lodi "stuck in Lodi again" as "only the old die young"...until a college friend (after she recovered from laughing) told me the real lyrics. I still have trouble referring to the song correctly!

my uncle and dad have argued this for years...in the song Henery the Eighth my uncle swears the line goes "She's been married several times before" when obviously it is "seven times before" if this Henery bloke is number 8 on her list...jeez

When my son Liam, who is nearly 17 now, was little he always used to sing his version of the Los Lobos song 'La Bamba' as 'la la la bamba, spaghetti meatballs, the bigga banana' it always made me and his dad fall about in fits of laughter

In the song Blinded By the Light, I thought the words were "wrapped up like a douche, another roller in the night". What does that mean?! I'm still not sure exactly what the words are along with a few other verses I can't make out all the words to.

When that "What a girl wants" song by Christina Aguilera came out, I thought the lyrics that were "Whatever makes me happy sets you free" was "Whatever makes me having sex, you three". I believed it for a long time until I actually read the lyrics.
