When I was little my mom got this weird statue thing of madonna holding a baby and it was gray and covered in black spots, so for the longest time I thought madonna ate children and it freaked me out every time I passed it

When I was little I used to think to become an actor or singer they would drive past your house and see you fake singing and ask if you wanted to be a singer or actor!

I used to think that Micheal Jackson was Elvis Presley's son. I have know idea why. It still puzzles me to this day. Plus, wouldn't his name be Micheal Presley?

When I was little I thought Madona was some sort of ancient egyptian singer and she died a long time ago. I also thought they just recently found her tomb.

I once thought that if you listened to Led Zeppelin you would explode. This was because of the raw power of the band. There music would instantly become too much for your body to take.

I believe someone told me this but I don't know who.

I've been listening to Zep for several years now. I haven't exploded yet.

When I was seven, I really liked John Denver. His music inspired me so much as to persuade my parents to buy me a small cheap acoustic guitar.

One day I heard one of his songs on the radio. I believed that he was in the radio studio there performing the song. I did not understand that they used recordings for broadcasts. I believed that this was how all radio operated. I supposed that since DJ's are live, then ...etc.

I even pictured John Denver riding the elevated to the station (I live in Chicago), guitar in hand, straw hat on head. I believed this despite the fact I owned a couple of his records then.

And to think that at that time I made fun of my sister for believing that my parents grew up in a monochrome world...

When I was about six, Michael Jackson's 'Earth Song' was in the charts for ages and the video was on Top Of The Pops every week. Right near the end of the video he is wearing tattered clothes and holding on to two trees. Every week I could've sworn the clothes were becoming more tattered - I thought he re-made the video week on week!

Me and my twin sister are really, really pale and have very dark hair. We lived in an orphanage when we were younger, and one day some stupid asshole 5th grader told us Michael Jackson was our real father and he was coming to get us. The terror we felt at this idea was undescribable. I had this weird idea that whenever Micheal Jackson was on TV, since we could see him he could see us too. So whenever he came on TV we would scream and run out of the room or hide behind something. We were afraid he would see us and come and adopt us or something. We had seen "Thriller" and we thought this guy was major-league creepy.
By the time I was about 7, I knew that people on the television couldn't see us on the other side. But I still believed Jacko was my father until I was at least 10 years old....talk about major nightmares.

My mother was a Beatles fan, and for many, many years I was convinced that, somehow, George Harrison and John Lennon were just different names for the same person. When I heard John Lennon died I was really very sad. When I found out that George Harrison died, I was really very confused.

It wasn't until recently that I got them straightened out.

My dad told me when I was a kid that Ringo Starr (Beatles Drummer) had a big nose because he used to drum with his drumsticks sticking out of his nose. I told all my friends in the street this and we believed it! My I was (still am) gullible. And my dad, well... He forgets he ever told me such a thing. I will never let him forget it!

At one point during my life, this was the equation I thought I understood:

Charles Manson = Marilyn Manson = Same Person

I believed when I was a kid that Steve Davis (British snooker star, champion in the 80's) was a member of The Beatles. (Maybe if you look carefully at the Sgt Pepper album...)

when i was a kid my parents sheltered me from a lot: i wasn't allowed to watch the simpsons, friends, etc. i wasn't allowed to watch mtv without fear of getting caught until i was 12. as far as music goes, up until i was about ten my mom had me sincerely believing that bands like Aerosmith just 'got up on stage and screamed.' when i actually heard Aerosmith and hard rock music i went crazy! and i've loved it ever since.

I used to believe that Micheal Jackson was a girl, which confused me a great deal. Strangely enough, I don't seem to be the only one who shares this belief!

i have no idea why, but i used to believe David Hasselhoff was actually named Michael Jackson. Every time someone mentioned the real Micheal Jackson, i mentioned the funny "fact" that there was another star with exactly the same name.
some people got really insecure because i was so convinced about it.
