I used to believe that Michael Jackson and Nancy Kerrigan were the same person. No idea why.
when i was young i believed Micheal Jackson and 'the artist formerly known as prince' were twin brothers.
I used to believe that the Grateful Dead were a hard rock or acid rock band . . . because of their name, and their scary looking album covers, and their following of fans called "dead heads". I was shocked when I first heard their music and went to one of their concerts -- it was practically easy listening!
i used to believe the people in good Charlotte were all girls named Charlotte and the lead singer just had a deep voice
My uncle (my dad's twin brother) played the piano and had slightly graying hair... once I asked my dad who his friend was, and for a brief while I believed my uncle was Paul McCartney.
I was watching Ed Sullivan one night, waiting for an appearance from Elvis Presley. For whatever reason, he was unable to make it and they substituted Roy Orbison. At my young unassuming age I believed that it was Elvis and that he was blind.
When I was little, I used to love the Spice Girls. I had a tape of them, and I listened to it so much that one day it went all weird and suddenly their voices sounded right deep. For some reason, I always thought that it was like that because the Backstreet Boys ate them.
Ever notice those clear, plastic 'walls' that are placed around drum sets?
Until the age of 12 I thought these were to protect the public from the drummer, should one of his drumsticks go flying.
When I was little I used to think that there were two different Michael Jackson's, one black and one white, and I used to ask my mom which one she liked better
When I was a kid I used to believe that Micahel Jackson had his own country- Thialand.

At about 6 years old, my parents took me to Disneyland. One of the attractions they took me to was a short 3D film called Captain EO, starring Michael Jackson. I remember sitting there watching, and as soon as he appeared, i remember asking my mother, "who is she?" My mother told me, thats not a woman, thats a man. I can't explain how confused I was, yet i can understand that today.
I used to think Jimi Hendrix was white, and Eric Clapton was black.
I saw Michael Jackson when he was on BBC News alot in like 2002 and when I saw the red lips and long hair I was convinced he was a woman. I would get into arguments with my mum and dad.

I was 4 when the "Uptown Girl" video by Billy Joel came out. On the video, his skin looks so tan that I used to think that he was African-American.
When I was 11, my aunt gave me a record player for Christmas. She asked what kinds of records I liked. I told her anything EXCEPT the Beatles...they were druggie music and no good. (I was into Donny Osmond, Leif Garrett and other bubblegum musicians.) With her twisted sense of humor, she included Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album. I was disgusted at the way they had stolen "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" from one of my preteen loves...Jack Wild! Imagine my surprise...when I was in college several years later, to discover the opposite!
My little sister told all her friends that Clint Eastwood was the singer of the band Gorrilaz.. ^^;
I believed when I was a kid that Steve Davis (British snooker star, champion in the 80's) was a member of The Beatles. (Maybe if you look carefully at the Sgt Pepper album...)
