I used to believe, for some odd reason, that Jimi Hendrix was white. I eventually saw a picture of him and realized, well, that's not true. I've proceeded to not telling any of my friends this.

I got the names of several singers and bands mixed up. I thought Waylon Jenning was "Wailing Jenny" and Hall and Oates was "Haulin' Oats".

When I was little I thought Michael Jackson was really a tough guy. The video "Bad" had come out and I saw him dressed in leather and heard the lyrics and I actually thought people were afraid of him because he was so tough.

I thought when Elvis had died they never found his body and that was why people thought he was still alive (makes more sense to me!)

I remember the first time I witnessed seeing Michael Jackson was in his music video for Free Willy. And, he being Michael Jackson, I could not figure out whether it was a man or a woman singing. What with his long hair, tight pants and high nasal voice...
I was absolutely astounded when my sister told me he was a man. To tell you the truth, I would have been astounded if she told me he was a woman. He looked damn nasty either way!

A few months ago my 13 year old sister was reading an article on the now defunct boy band named Five. One of the member's name was Sean. When I asked her who she thought was the cutest she said "Seen" not realising how to pronounce the word.

When I was 8 or 9, me and my dad was watching a rock concert, and the performer (cannot remember who it was), took the mic with him and walked around stage while he was singing. My dad told me that the singer was a thief, he was about to steal the mic! I believed this until I was 11 or so, then one day i suddenly realised that he was joking..

I used to think "Piano Man" was a duet sung by a man and a woman. Then I saw the video and realized that Billy Joel just did falsetto to sing the verses that required a high pitch.

When I was about ten and Marcy Playground had his one hit wonder "Sex and Candy" I somehow connected it with the Sex Pistols I think because I saw their CD at the store and they both had the word "sex" in them. I was a fan of theirs for years before I ever heard one of their actual songs :).

I realized what an idea of Michael Jackson I've had. Though I knew he had changed deliberately.
He used to be black then he was/is white. So... he just grew up like this. He grew... pale.

I used to think that all country music singers were cowboys, and cowboys would kill you if you met them. Therefore, I believed that country music singers were vicious killers.
