I used to believe cat tails, ( the plants by a pond) were real cattails, but only cooled and not shaved off at the top, but at the bottom! LOL!!!
when i was little, at night time i used to be afraid of trees, i thought they were big fluffy monsters that were chasing me... in the car on trips id look out the window and see them, and think they were going to get me because there were so many, but i also kind of figured that they cant get me because we're moving..
When I was a kid someone told me that there was peanut butter in the blossom parts of clover. I believed them and was always trying to pull it apart to find the hidden peanut butter.
My sister and I once thought that pine needles could act as wishbones, due to their shape. So we sat in the backyard one afternoon, making wishes on pine needles and pulling them apart. Of course, we discovered the next day that they didn't work.
I used to believe that you had to plant sprouts in order to get cabbage trees.. lol I know, I feel so stupid now!
I used to believe that the little 'helicopters' that fall from the trees were dead tadpoles.
i used to believe that if i looked at trees, the wind would start blowing.
When I was a child, there was a house with a monkey-puzzle tree in the garden. It was very sinister looking, and we all believed that you couldn't speak when walking past it, or terrible things would befall you. No matter how noisy we were as children, none of us spoke when passing this tree. To this day, I still can't pass a monkey puzzle tree without remembering, and without speaking!
When I was younger, I believed that plants had pulses al well. When I saw a friend of my older sister tear a leaf off one, I immediately went to the trunk in order to check on the tree.
I believed when a friend told me that the glossy leaves on the bush in our front yard tasted like candy. The red ones were cinnamon and the green ones were mint. I finally tried tasting one day...they didn't.
When i was around 8-9 my friends showed me these flowers and when they hadnt bloomed you twisted it from the bottom and pulled through the inner part and sucked it they said it was honey and that when the flower bloomed the bees took it all.
i thought this was true for over a year until my mum corrected me
Our playground in elementary school was in rough shape. All along the outer perimeter away from all the equipment, tall grass grew and and it was peppered with these nasty burs that would stick into your clothes and skin. I used to think the teachers planted those to keep us kids from wandering off. I was determined to prove this and if I ever went to a nursery or plant store with my mom, I'd frantically look for those seeds so I could show the world what the teachers were up to.
I used to believe the stick insect was a real stick and when the night was coming the million stick insect gathered to create the tree. If 50% insect stick died the tree would die too. That's why to me, the Amazonia forets died because the stick insect died too!
When I was a child I used to believe that when you blew a dandelion you could make a wish and that wish would be real
During my childhood, I used to believe that trees were intelligent and could feel the pain.
I believed it because one day when I climbed in a tree the branche where I was hanging was broken.
Since this accident I believe that I need to ask to the trees if i can climb on them.
That the trees made the wind by waving

when i was little i used to love watching doctor who, but found it really scary. there is an episode where strange daffodils sprayed suffocating plastic on to peoples faces. to this day i cannot small them or have daffodils next to my face!
I used to call poinsettias "pinseltoe" because I could never remember the correct word. And "pinseltoe" sounds like "mistletoe", so that helped at Christmas!
When I was younger, my aunt told me that the little white flowers that grew in patches across lawns would stick to my feet, and I'd be stuck there forever if I stepped on them. I believed her for teh longest time.
