When we were young, we were quite frightened by thunder. Our mum explained us not to worry, that it was only Jesus who was roller-skating on the clouds... That argument definitely made us smiling during rainy days !
I used to believe that when it thundered it was God moving the furniture around up in heaven!
When I was little I used to think that thunder and lightning was God having a party in heaven with Jesus because they got bored up there. I thought that the thunder was the loud music or someone passing out on the floor, and the lightning was the strobe lights. Boy was I taught to believe wierd things! I suppose it's because my mum thought I was too young to understand science when I was 3 :D
i heard from sum 1 that if u did sum thing bad it would storm so i had to be good or else..........if i wasn';t god got angry and needed anger mangement.
My mum used to tell me that thunder was Jesus moving the furniture around in heaven to make more room for people, and lightning was god switching the toliet light on and off to tell people to hurry up, as there are not enough toliets for everyone because of all the people.
my aunties anne and carole newton used to believe (my mum and other auntie convinced them)that whenever they heard thunder it was god coming down to get them !
My parents told me that thunder happened because giants were bowling up in the sky and when it thundered it was a strike. When lightning struck, it was their opponents the fairies getting a strike. For years I was worried about giant bowling balls falling out of the sky.
My Mum & Dad always told me when it was thundering & lighting that it was God having his coal delivered & he was turning the light on in the coal cellar. Well i went along with this till one day when i was about 6 we was all out in the car in a storm & it got hit by lighting to which i turned to my Dad and said" Dad tell God we dont wont no f--king coal" the next thing i can remember is this pain in the back of my head as my Dads very large hand connected to my head. . (that was the first & last time i used the F word till i left home) LOL
I used to believe that thunder was when the sky belched really loundly. During storms, I thought the sky was being needlessly rude, and sometimes was so offended that I would run to mom to "tell on" the sky. She thought it was funny.
one day, during a storm i told my younger sister that thunder and lightning was the Giant chasing Jack across the cloud tops and shooting at him for steeling his stuff. sometimes it took a long time for Jack to reach his beanstalk and get to safety.
i used to believe that when i heard thunder that god was alwayz farting as this is what my mates used to tell me. i still believe them and they laugh at me for it. i dont see what the problem is.
when i was little my mum told me i was a naughty girl and whenever i was naughty there would be a storm and i was alwayz scared of the thunder so i was alwayz a good girl from that day. now im alot older i realise that it was all alot of rubbish.
I used to believe that clouds were solid, and when they bumped into eachother that caused thunder and that
lightening was a seperate thing
I also thought that if you said the words 'thunder' or 'lightening' between May and September, that would make it happen and I'd put my fingers in my ears if anyone used those words.
When i was small i used to believe that lighting is the flash of camera which god used to take our photograph. And thundering is the shoutng to god fro his mother for wasting the roll in the camera.
When I was little, I was afraid of thunder and lightning, cause I used to believe that during a thunderstorm, God and the devil were in a fight; God being the lightning, the devil being the thunder. I would picture God zapping the devil with the lightning and the devil getting real mad and throw a temper tantrum and that would cause the thunder.
It was obvious, thunder was the sound of God having the coal delivered direct into the coal cellar, and the lightning was sparks being struck off the coalhole cover if the coalman kicked it accidentally.
I used to believe that when there was thunder and lightning ans a storm going on that there were Lions sitting outside my bedroom window roaring to make me scared
When I was 6 or 7 I used to belive that when it was sunny God was happy, when it was rainy that God was cring, when there was lightning God was mad and when there was thunder God was bowling.
I used to jump in my mothers lap when it used to rain with thunder & lightning.Because i used to believe that god is searching for me with his gun and firing as he is not getting me,and he is becoming more and more angry.
The reason behind this belief is my mother used to tell me that i am a grown up boy (i was 3 years old then) and i should not ask for my mothers milk.
when i was younger my granny told me thunder was god moving his furniture around!
