I used to believe that in winter, we didn't have any clouds i nthe sky so much of the time because if we had clouds, it would cover up the sun and we would be even MORE cold than we should be and would die.
when i was little i used to believe that when it rained it was because God punished the clouds and they cried.
When I was younger, my mom has dumped out some of those flat marbles that you put in fish tanks to make it look pretty in the backyard. A few years later I was playing back there and I found one. It had been hailing earilier that day, and I thought it was a colored hailstone that hadn't melted yet. I stuck it in the freezer.
A few days later, it was gone.
I thought my cat ate it.
A couple of weeks ago it was snowing, so me and a friend were talking about snow and then got onto the subject of grit. I think I said something like 'isn't it great how grit only falls on the roads'. That's right, I thought grit came down from the sky like rain whenever it snowed. My friend quickly caught onto this and told me about grit clouds...I happily believed him and spent most of the night looking for the grit clouds, whcih were bound to come as it was snowing.....I'm 15 years old
When I was little, whenever the clouds covered the sun, I used to think that it was because the sun had to shine else where in the world or else it wouldn't be fair if my house had all the sunshine.
i used to believe rain was the sky crying
My friend used to believe that snowflakes were very big - only slightly smaller than dinner plates. He is from Florida but now attends college with me in the Midwest. He thought the little white specks, as seen in movies, were merely small ice crystals, not real snowflakes. Only during a recent snowstorm did he figure out the truth.
He is a very bright engineering student and is eighteen years old.
As a child I witnessed a strange phenomenon called a ' mother of pearl sky' which is only seen something like once in every 100 years. It's a bit like the northern lights except you can see it in every colour of the rainbow.
I thought that the weather had been so windy that the sides of a rainbow had been split open and the colours had been spilt everywhere like paint.
When I was around the age of 4 When it used to rain really heavily I thought God was crying. So every night it rained I would pray and tell him "everythings going to be okay" -- Bless.
That I could control the wind by talking to it sweetly. When the breeze failed to come on my request I put it down to the wind being temprimental (like me).
I used to believe that if you dressed up like a rainbow, rainbows wouldnt move if you got closer to them because they'd think you were their own 'species'. I asked my grandma to sew me one and cried when she told me she couldnt!
I used to believe that whenever it rained out, the angels were crying from heaven
On cloudy days me and my friends used to stand with our hands clasped together, pointed at the sky, to make the clouds part and the sun come out. But you had to really be thinking about the clouds parting and really wanting it to be sunny. We said we were sunbeams. And if someone was sulky and refused to help we said they were rain beams and would make the weather bad.
I used to believe that rainbows followed me around. Whenever I saw a rainbow in the sky, I would walk with it and "take it to my friend's house so she could see it"... I'd actually walk around talking to it and guiding it. LOL!
I used to believe that clouds were made by the white smoke that came out of jets up high in the sky.
when i was little, i used to get so scared of thunder, but then my mom told me that it was fred flinstone playing bowling on the clowds.
When I was 11 I used to think that if you put an orange in the fridge and then went to bed with your shirt backwards it would snow. I've tried it never works.
When the oil stains on the roads are washed away by the rain, they look all very colourful, rainbow like. I used to believe, back in 1969, that they were the product of the rain washing the moon...
top belief!
I used to believe that clouds represented recently deceased animals. If I looked at the sky and saw clouds that looked like for example a rabbit, I'd be 100% sure that a rabbit had just died. I also thought that the white clouds were happy and died a normal death, while a darker cloud was angry and had maybe been killed by something else.
I always thought there were 2 seasons in a year. There was summer, that lasted 3 months, and winter, which was the remaining 9 months.
