When i was about 5, i'd play barbies in front of the window because the sun beams would always shine on the carpet. So i made my barbie's go tanning in the sunbeams and i noticed that the sunbeams would go away and then come back and i looked out the window and see that the sun was still out but there were no sunbeams. My mom was sitting near me on the couch and i asked her "When the sunbeams go away, is the sun breathing?" and she said "yes" but i don't think she was really paying attention. So for the longest time i thought everytime the sun went away, it was inhaling and when it exhaled the sun came back. Stupid me, later i found out it was just a cloud in front of the sun.
I thought the clouds held the meaning of life, I'm still asked why i stare soo much at the sky.
I used 2 believe dat when it was raining, God would be up there peeing..So whenever there was a heavy rain,in the past,i would be thinkin "God sure has 1 huge bladder.."
My mom told me one time during a tornado warning that if it was raining, that there could not be a tornado.
I had a plan.
I would go outside if I saw the tornado, and grab the hose. Then, I would spray the tornado down and make it go away. I would save the whole neighborhood!!
When I was about 5 or so, I used to believe that when it was raining it was God who would be bathing and the water would be running down the drains which was the clouds. Even up to now I can't figure out where I got that idea.
top belief!
when i was little i used to think that weather reporters were holy people and that whatever they predicted, god would make happen.
I used to think that weather presenters actually made the weather. This was the case in the days when they used a map with stick-on icons instead of computer graphics, and I used to be annoyed at them when they put rain clouds on the map!
When I was little I used to believe that the snow came down from the mountain instead of the sky...cause all the older people would look up at the snow line and say the snow is coming down the mountain
I used to believe that a tornado was the Big Bad Wolf (from Three Little Pigs) driving around in a police car. Living in Kansas, we had quite a few tornadoes... One, in particular, came pretty close to our house. When the warnings were issued, my mom called me in from playing outside, but before I could go in I had to go to the end of the driveway and look down the street for the "tornado". I told my mom I didn't see it coming, but had to go in anyway. Imagine my surprise when I saw the real thing!
once, when me and my twin sister were little, there were really strong winds, so we asked my dad if the roof was going to blow off. he said it might, and since me and hers room is on the top floor, we were really scared. that night we collected all our teddies and blankys into our pillow cases and sat for hours waiting to the roof to blow off. we loved our teddies so much, we had to save them lol. after a while, we went to sleep, hugging our pillow cases stuffed with teddies. our roof didnt blow off in the end!!
My mom told me that rain would help me grow... at a small 5'3" the reality set in quickly.
top belief!
When I was very young, I thought snow came out of street lights. Which, in theory makes sense; I couldn't see it until it fell below the light. I didn't know why they "snow lights" only worked for part of the year, though...
When I was little I thought that clouds was made of cotton, and if I ever had the chance, I would fly up there and sit on them=)
when i was child and a rainbow occured,i thought that all resources in earth has been finished and human is no longer able to live.
When we were about 6, my best friend and I used to think that whenever we saw a rainbow, we could make different colors appear in it by throwing different colored trash in the gutter at the end of the road. It really seemed to work...
I used to stare out of the window of my apartment when I was a kid, looking at the clouds as they moved across the sky. I used to believe that they were all going to visit the Blue Fairy and I wished that I could join them as well.
when my mom and dad would talk about the weather they would say the were calling for rain so i thought that people would call the weather channel and tell them to make it rain
My mom led my 2 younger sisters and I to believe that if you pointed at a rainbow you would make it dissappear and that was bad luck. I don't know about my sisters, but I still will NOT point at a rainbow!
i use to believe that the cloud in the sky is ice cream and that one day i will grow so tall that i can actually scoop it with my hand.
I used to think my mum really meant it when she said "it's raining cats and dogs". I still can't help imagining cat and dog rain every time I hear that expression!
