When I was a kid, I think about 8. I used to believe that whenever it rains God is probably crying. Not untill I reched high school that I learned that my belief can be explained scientificaly.

As a little kid, I always thought clouds were made out of mashed potatoes. I'd stand outside and think about what the clouds tasted like.

That there was real gold at the end of the rainbow,

that it rained because the clouds were having a bath and letting out their dirty water

my mum used to say that if you made lots of noise when you saw a rainbow it would frighten it away, even now, I still have the urge to stay completely still and quiet whenever I see a rainbow - the power of nature eh!!!

Till I understood the meaning of the phrase "Every cloud has a silver lining" I always used to look at the clouds and search for the silver lining and could never find one.... :-)

I was 4 years old and it was my first time in the Netherlands. It was pretty cold outside and being from a tropical country, where it's always 30 degrees, I asked my mom if they could turn off the airconditioning.

I used to believe that at night, the dark clouds in the sky were actually monsters out to get me, causing much hiding behind the curtains.

Life was v difficult, considering I live in Manchester, England- where a clear sky is a rare occurence....

When I was about 5 I thought that the clouds were cotton candy and when I got taller I would be able to pick it and eat as much cotton candy as I wanted. My brother told me that when it rained God and Satan were fighting over rice in a pot that when God won( which he always did) Satan would cry and throw over the pot and the rice and Satan's tears would mix and make rain.

top belief!

I used to believe that I could order nice weather. This was something my sisters had put inside my head, but I kept on saying things like "Don't worry, I'll order some sun" and "If only my order gets through to the weather man" until I was about 8 or 9 years old. When my oldest sister then politely told me that it was all rubbish, my mother claim I said "Oh, I wondered if he didn't like me anymore" as the weather had been very wet the past month.

When I was little, I used to think that fog was made out of cotton candy. When ever it was foggy, I used to go out and try to eat it. It always dissapointed, becuase it tasted bland. it wasn't until I was 7 that my cousin told me it was water vapor.

When I was little, and not so little, I used to think that when people were saying wind chill factor they were saying windshield factor. It made sense to me; afterall, I imagined the weathermen taking the temperature of the windshield as the wind was hitting it to determine the actual temperature outside.

I used to think that when you saw a rainbow there would be a little green leprechaun sitting there with a pot of gold, and if you tried to steal the gold he would push you into the rainbow and your body would get boils and burn to death...

I believed that when I was little that if you ate a piece of a cloud that floated down into your bowl of soup that it would taste like a marshmellow and that you'd slowly float back up in the sky
