when i was little my mum was always saying every time there was a black sky "Ooh, look, it's black over Bill's mothers". The trouble was that my Grandad's name was Bill and I can remember once coming back from holiday on the motorway and my Mum said it again as there was a massive grey thunder-cloud in the sky. I remember thinking "God, where ever we are, she always seems to know what direction Grandad's mum's house is in!" Then one day me and my Mum and Dad were driving along in the car again and the radio presenter said "and here is todays weather, ooh, it looks a bit black over bill's mothers" i was well shocked and i thought "how does he know grandad?!"
One day in third grade, it rained, and our teacher told us to look for Roy G. Biv outside during recess. The whole time I was watching for a short man, possibly wearing a rainbow-colored 'fro wig, to peek around a corner and spy on us.
I was a dumb kid.
When I was a child I used to believe that at the end of the rainbow you could find a pot of gold and other treasures but you only could take it if it was in your field
My older sister used to beleive that when it rained, the angels in heaven were having a spitting contest
I used to think Tornadoes was when you'd see huge tomatoes attacking the town and ruining everything, what a freak.
I used to think that if you stared real hard at the wind, you could see the angels.
I used to believe that when it rained, god was sad about something ans was crying. when i was about 7 i remember it raining really hard so i went outside and was running around mindlessly screaming "whats the matter?!?!?! whats the matter?!?!?!!" . thats all i remember but i was told that it started hailing and i was knocked out with a huge hailstone.thats probly why i woke up in hospital:)
One day, I was reading a juvenile novel, and the hero passed through a cloud. To his confusion, and mine, it wasn't a pleasant experience: the cloud didn't hold him, nor was it like fluffy cotton candy. Instead, he passed right through the cloud, which was full of water == all wet and rainy! yuck! I was very disappointed after realizing that I could never sit on a "soft fluffy cloud," and wished I would have never learned the truth!!
My mom used to say "Close the door it's cold out side!" I used to believe that if i closed the door it would be warm outside.
When the TV weatherman would list the current temperature and the windchill factor, I thought he said "windshield factory". I could never figure out why the weather would be different there and why anyone would care about it.
I used to believe that when the weatherman announced that there was a 30% chance of rain, it meant that it was going to rain 30% of the day. It always seemed to be raining during the summers of my youth.
I used to believe clouds became cotton candy at sunset because they turned pink
Not sure at what this was, but I use to be afraid of thunderstorms. To ease my mind Dad told me God was bowling. The rumbling thunder was the bowling ball going down the lane and the lightning was him getting a strike. If memory servers...God is an outstanding bowler with many 300 games.
Someone told me about walking on clouds whe I was young. naturally, I belived that was possible. But the clouds never came so close so I could try. :-(
When I was a kid, I used to believe that windmills were what caused the wind to blow. silly me :)
I used to believe that if it was raining, it was raining all over the world at the same time!
I used to think that when it rained the angel/fairies were watering us with little watering cans! as though helping us to grow!
ok. when I was young we would travel to visit my Grandad. We passed sugar mills, car factories, and other large buildings along the way.
well, listening to the radio weather updates in the car I always thought they said the tempeture at "the windshield factory" is such and such degrees. I figured that was a place we passed on the way to Grandads. I was 16/17 before I ever figured out they were saying "THE WIND CHILL FACTOR" DOH!
I used to believe that when windmills spun round they were making wind. They only spun round on windy days and stayed still on sunny days, so i never doubted my belief. I never could understand why people wanted to make it windy, STUPID PEOPLE!!!!!
My dad worked on a plant of some sort. They had those huge stacks with all the smoke coming out. One day I went up there with my mom and I saw the smoke, I truly believed that my dad made clouds all day! But no, he was just polluting.. ha.
