I used to believe that when you paid tax on a purchase, you paid extra money because you didn't have any tacks to pay, and that the cashier took the money and bought the tacks themselves so they wouldn't get in trouble with the IRS.

Counting: I used to think that 50% off of an item on sale, plus 50% off that meant it was free.

When I was little I was afraid to go to Business Depot with my mom and little brother. It sounds stupid, but when my mom said Business Depot, I thought she said Mrs. Depot and at that time I was really shy and I didn't want to visit some old lady. :P

When I had to ride on escalators when I was little I would always get really nervous near the top or bottom. My big brother told me that little kids had gotten sucked down the grates and they would try to grab your ankles and make you live down there with them.

When I was little, my dad used to always take me to this McDonald's that was right next to a Sears. The Sears sign must have been really big or something because I would always refer to McDonald's as Sears.

For most of my childhood life (from birth to age 11) I lived in the area. My family always went to the same grocery store(a Kroger), so until I was about 6, I thought that everyone in my city went to Kroger for grocery shopping, so I was shocked when I went to kindergarden and found kids who went other places for groceries!

Up until I was 14, I thought that the store" Car toys" didn't sell car accesories, but that they sold phones, phone accesories, and mp3 players and walkmans. I was shocked to see an ad on tv for "Car Toys" selling tvs for your car and speaker systems for your car.

I used to think that if you didnt jump onto the first step of an escalator and off the last on then you would be sucked in. And if your shoe lace got stuck it would sucku you in and flatted you in shreds.

I used to believe that writing a check simply showed the store that yes, you did have that amount of money in the bank and that was sufficient to buy something.
