My dad would tell me that if the ice cream van was playing a tune it meant that he had no ice cream left. Duh!

I used to believe that when the ice-cream van man came around the neighbourhood, the jingle meant that he had run out of ice-cream. This is what my parents used to tell me. Is this bad parenting I wonder?

when I was about 5 my uncle told me that the ice cream truck was from the orphanage comming to take me away. When I eventually realized that it wasn't the orphanage truck he told me they only played music when it was sold out of ice cream. I only dicovered the truth when I was in my teens.
