I was too scared to go to the bathroom, at night, because I thought there was a monster that would jump out of the bath tub and attack me.

No wonder why my parents were so frustrated in the morning...

i distincly remember, when I was little, I thought my freckles were a disease. I thought that my fleckles, would fade; it’s a bittersweet memory.

In first grade my friend had on a sweatshirt that had the "guess" logo on it. I had no idea what her shirt said, so I asked her, and her reply was "guess." As you can imagine, I kept asking and was frusterated when she kept telling me to guess. It took me awhile to figure out that the shirt actually said guess on it, and she had told me right away.

When I turned 18, I remembered that when I was younger (and chubby), I thought that when i turned 18 i would turn skinny. Like all 18 year olds are skinny or something.

when my brother was little my mom would have the hardest time trying to get him to keep his shirt tucked in. One day we were getting pictures done and he kept untucking it so my mom told him that if he didnt keep his shirt tucked in he would get a hernia. My dad had just had a hernia operation so we saw how much pain he was in. He never untucked his shirt again until he was about 14 and learned the truth.

I used to think for some reason that when you wore clothes with buttons on them, you put on the shirt and then somebody came up and sewed them on your body and they stabbed you with a needle as they did it. i still rarely wear shirts with buttons.

Whenever I used to fight with my brother and make faces at him my mum told me that my face would stay like that if the wind blew. From that day onwards, i would just ignore him if he ever started a fight on a windy day (or outside!)

When I was little I tucked my shirt into my underwear instead of into my pants. One day someone told me never to do that and I was convinced that I would catch on fire if I did it again. Later I found out that it just made my underwear show at the top of my pants.

When I was about 3 years old, I thought that if you had long hair, you were a girl and if you had short hair, you were a boy. My mom told me that I was a girl numerous times, but since I had short hair, I just said "I'm not a girl, I'm a boy!"

My parents are really liberal and always taught me that racism was bad and everything like that.

Unfortunately it had the consequence that I was really frightened of talking to non-white people until I was about 9 or 10, because I was scared I'd say something that could make me seem racist.

Also, I never used the word 'black' to describe somebody. Like there'd be an actor on TV and I'd be like "What else has the tall guy with the dark hair been in?" because I didn't want to seem racist by calling him black.

When I was about 3 years my mother would say" we have to get you new clothes" they have become small. I would wonder at my mother's cleverness as to how exactly she knew when the clothes became small.

I also would think my clothes were smart enough to know when to become small.
It took me 3-4 years to realise that clothes did not become small , I grew Up and I was wonderstuck !!

I used to think gender was determined by the length of your hair. Boys had short hair, and girls had long hair. I didn't know the real way to determine it. Anyways, I always thought Hanson were three girls, not boys.

I could never understand how grown ups could tell if your shoes were on the right feet or not.. My mom always looked at the bottom of my shoes and I remember wondering what she was looking for. I thought there were some special words I couldn't see on the bottom of all my shoes...

When I was around 5 my Mom was going to take me sledding, and since it was pretty windy out she tied a bandana around my nose and mouth to keep warm. I freaked out, I thought I looked liek a bandit and that I would be arrested If I went out with a bandana around my mouth. I also refused to let my mom wear her ski mask for the same reason...

When I was little, I thought that ALL teenage boy wore big black sweatshirts and were fat. I didn't know any teenage boy like that when I was that young. I didn't even know any teenage boys. I have no idea what led me to believe this.

When I was in 2nd grade my teacher used to say "I've got eyes on the back of my head". It made me think that adults can really grow eyes on the back of their head...but I was misunderstood. By that she means she can sense what's going on in the classroom without looking back..

My Uncle told me that if I put my right shoe on first the other would always be left. I took that literally and always put my right shoe on first. When I got older and realized the joke; I could not break this habit, no matter how hard I tried. As an adult I tried for quite some time and did succeed in being able to put either shoe on first.

I used to believe that the difference between boys and girls is that boys have eyebrows, and girls have eyelashes. (Must have been those mascara comercials.)
