top belief!
I used to believe that the rays of light shining down from the sun were the pathways that dead people use to get to heaven.
When i was little, my parents would tell me to be good because my uncle was in Heaven with Jesus and they could see everything I did. So, I would always grab a towel and cover up with it whenever I would go to the bathroom or change so that they couldn't see me naked.
When I was a kid, my family lived 5 miles from Cheyenne Mountain, home of Norad. At 8 or 9 I had a lot of fear about nuclear war because we knew we were one of the first targets and we had air raid drills (not duck and cover) at school. Since my mom worked, I was afraid we kids would be home alone in piles of grey, flaky fallout. I asked Mom if the Russians dropped The Bomb, how would she get home from work to get us? I found her reply very comforting: "Don't worry, honey, if they drop the bomb, we'll all be instantly vaporized and we'll meet up in heaven."
As a preschooler I used to believe that if we went to heaven when we died, we lived in heaven before we were born. I went around telling my friends that I went around heaven saying good-bye to Mary, Joseph, and Jesus before I was born and telling them I would see them later when I died.
I used to believe if you let go of a balloon outside that it would float up to heaven for the children waiting to be born.
I used to think that if you were mean, after you die, you go to hell where Satan makes you slide down giant razor blades before you go into the pool of fire. Ha
As a child aged 4, a younger sibling died. It was my impression that his body would be placed atop a palm tree where messengers from heaven would retrieve this returning "angel". As an adult I learned of similar beliefs by the American Indians; at least in the manner they placed their departed atop high trees, mountains, etc.
I used to believe that if you look into the center of a fire hard enough, you could see hell.
When a friend of mine was 15!, he said in the class-room: Howcome can people come to heaven, when we have opened mass graves and found lots of skeletons?

When I weas young I thought thet when people went to heaven they were put on conveyor belts, and one by one they got to chat a little with God, and then they walked around and drank coffee in the clouds forever.

After hearing the story of Jesus turning the few pieces of fish and bread into thousands, I was convinved this is what people ate in heaven. I hate fish, so for several years I told my mom I didn't want to go to heaven because I would have to eat fish.
I used to think you could drive to heaven to visit your friends and relatives who had died before....
I used to believe the nuns could decide if I would go to hell.

I used to believe that when you died Jesus would come by in a helicopter, drop his rope ladder for you to climb up on and take you back to heaven with him.
i used to believe that when we died, an angel would come down and carry our body to heaven

When I was about 6, I had this fascination with reincarnation (think I must have watched some programme on TV about it), and I was gonna write a list of all my friends names & put it in my pocket so if I died & was reincarnated, I could come & see them all.
It wasn't until a while later that I remembered that the paper would not be reincarnated with me...
I use to think that Heaven was located on the top of clouds. Therefore, if I looked really hard and somehow saw the top of a cloud, I could see Heaven. Weird!
I use to believe that if I baptised kittens they would go to cat heaven.
I used to believe that if you prayed enough to God he would bring the deceased back to like.

I used to wonder why we all wanted to go to heaven to just play a harp. That sounded boring. But, I wasn't supposed to like Hell either.
