My brother told me that Jesus committed one sin: he broke the bread and gave the small piece to the poor people. I believed this until I was about 11.

I used to believe that three sheep dogs named Shirley, Gooodness, and Mercy would "follow me all the days of my life" while I dwelled "in the house of the Lord, forever." After all, "The Lord is my shepherd..."

There were always made up stories for different weather that went on.

I was told that when it rained, either Jesus was taking a shower way up in heaven, or he asked his Daddy (God) to go hang out with his friends, God said no (cause he's the boss) and Jesus cried.

When there was a storm, God was bowling...thunder was the sound of the ball rolling down the aisle, and each time there was a strike, there was lightening.

When it snowed....God had dandruff...

I used to believe Jesus was born every year at Christmas and died every year at Easter. Between Christmas and Easter he lived in Israel, but between Easter and Christmas he lived in heaven and was on vacation. I was upset to find out he only lived and died once thousands of years ago because I thought that meant only people who lived back then got their sins redeemed.

To explain the stars coming out at night, I believed that the sky was a giant pin cushion and we were all inside. At night, when God was finished sewing, he would put his pins in the pin cushion, and those were the Stars. I actually envisioned God, sitting there in a barca-lounger, sewing all day, with his pin cushion at his side...

i used to believe that the virgin mary in the bible's real name was mary virgin, and obviously was part of the extended virgin family who lived out in the desert - i also just presumed that once you got married you automatically got a baby, and i thought that the big deal about jesus being born was that mary virgin said that she didn't want one, and then got one anyway - imagine my confusion when madonna's like a virgin came out !

It must have been from watching Disney's Aladdin that I got the idea that God was a large blue man with a turban, a goatee, and the voice of Robin Williams.

When I was little, my father (Tweedle Lee) had said something to my half-brother (Tweedle Fee) about God coming down and doing something that concerned Fee (I don't remember what). Since I didn't/don't know what God looks like, I just imagined this big, white cross suddenly flying down from the sky and just hovering by our house. I know usually think of him as some huge white robed figure that sits on a gigantic chair, and his face is some sort of blur.

When I was little I used to write notes to my boyfriend, put them in my closet and pray to god to give the note to the boy. I was kind of dissapointed when the note was still in the closet the next day. I still don't know where I got the idea that god was some sort of mailman.

I used to have a picture book that showed Jesus dying on a cross. I had heard that we had to die like that because we deserved it. I didn't hear that Jesus died for that punishment so I assumed that when we died we had to die on a cross!
