I used to think god looked like Mr. Rogers. accept He was really humongeus, after all he had to take up the entire sky

Well, when I was around 2 our landlord died. I asked Mama where he went. She said he was in a place called Heaven up in the sky with a man called God. I looked up and saw the moon and figured God's face looked like that. For a number of years I thought of God as a man with a face like the moon!

I used to think that the devil wore a cowboy hat. When I'd see someone wearing one I'd ask my mom if she thought that was him.

I used to think that when you had an itch and you scratched it you were letting the devil in...so Jesus didn't want you to scratch your itches...hmmmm

As a child I had always wondered why we called God, "God" when he had a proper name.

Our Father who art in Heaven,
Harold be thy name.

I remember as a child that "heaven" was in the sky . I swear I saw Jesus in the clouds. I ran to my parents shouting "I saw Jesus, I saw Jesus he's there in the clouds." Then I was told thats only how the clouds look that it was't really Jesus. For some reason it really hurt at the time. Oh well.

as a 5 year old in kindergarden, all off a sudden we all went to the window and we saw a cloud fly by - it was pretty windy too, so it passed quite quickly. all the kids kept saying "look, god is sitting on the cloud!!"... i joined in, but always wondered where they saw him...

also, when it was raining, i thought god was peeing. i only believed that for a little while, cuz he must have a very big bladder for it to rai throughout the night!

Due to hearing something wrong after asking a question (asking why god needed our tithes since he could poof some dollar bills into existence), for a long while I thought that after Jesus supposedly resurrected, he moved to new york and lived in some insanely expensive apartment. I had basically zero understanding of time or anything, so this made sense at the time- all I knew about Christianity was God made the universe, became Jesus, died and resurrected.

Jesus is totally a rich new yorker, 4 year old self. totally.

I used to believe that the devil would eat parts of my body if I didn't cover my self properly at night!

As a toddler hearing about Jesus comming into my heart made me a little curious but happy because I (even then) had a passion for Jesus. I believed that a little man (of how I pictured Jesus) would actually live in my heart

When I was little, me and my cousins used to stay over at my great aunt's house for sleepovers, and we used to misbehave all the time and one day she told us: "ssshhhh kids can you hear the dogs barking? well that means that the devil is near...so I suggest you all go to bed right now". To this day when I hear a lot of dogs barking at the same time I think the devil is near.....and I'm 28!!!!!

I use to believe that even God could see me naked, so I use to hide in my closet, get dressed and then either get ready for bed, school or hanging out with my friends. I later realized that God lives in my heart and not on my body.

When I was little I believed that God, Jesus and Lord were living in sky. God took up one portion of the sky, Jesus took up another portion and Lord took up the remaining portion. That was how they managed to see everything that was going on in the world.

When I was about 5, when my great grandmother was alive. There were sewer drains and manholes all over the palce at her little "Home"... So my dad says the "MANAGER and his HELPERS" lived under manholes and sewer drains, and he said the "MANAGER" could handle any problem. I used to think it was the "Devil and his little demonic helpers" and I pictured him in my head from a show I think is called Labrynth or somthing... So, whenever i saw a manhole or sewer drain Id be so scared, I would cry... †Thank god hes not real†

I used to believe that since Heaven was in the clouds-or so I believed- whenever I was on an airplane, I would look around- searching for God and his angels.

My teacher told us this story once. Apparently he was taking his four-year-old daughter to church for Easter morning mass, and she asked, "Daddy, what is Easter about?" He replied, "Well, it's the day that Jesus Christ was resurrected from the dead." Her immediate response was "Nuh uh! You're lying!" "No, really," he said, "that's what Easter is about." His daughter got a really deep, thoughtful expression on her face for a minute, and then said "Well, that's really dumb. You can't come back from the dead. Even I know that."

My 4 year old cousin recently asked us if Jesus is a man or a woman. We all guessed that the long hair, the beard and the robe made him doubt on everything that he already knew about boys and girls.
