I used to believe that kindergarten was called "kindy garden" after some sort of garden or something.
When I had just finished kindergarden, I used to think that mine was the only school in the world that had a building. I believed that the others went inside a huge mud pot, after shrinking to fit in!!!
I used to think the writer's workshop lessons we had in primary school would be like some of carpentry or DIY workshop, and pictured a man from somewhere like Homebase or IKEA coming into the classroom, and saying 'who are these people in my workshop?!'
I thought that when people had a 4.0 in school they got 100s in every single thing they did and they never missed a single question on anythingg
When i was in elementary school, i used to bring in dental floss on foggy days... noone knows why... still
When I was younger, I attended a pre-school (which I thought was actually pronounced "pretty school" until I was 8) was located near this building that had the front side made of limestone. Because this was the only side that looked green, I thought that it was mold or something and that the building's entrance was once the side that was in the ground. I figured that they rotated the fliped the building onto one side and the front was green because it was in the ground so long.
I used to think everyone just kind of stayed inside and did house work until I got out of school. When I had doctor's appointments and saw people out and about, I assumed they had various emergencies to tend to.
When i was little, i used to think that schools did not exist until my kindergarten year and that school was just an experiment to see if its worth it. I use to be extra bad just so they would cancel it and realize the experiment was a fail.
When I was little I went to a school that was 1st to 3rd. I was in 1st and I can remember thinking 3rd graders were the really big kids. I couldn't wait to be one!
I was convinced that there were only 11 grades of school, and grade 12 was college. My mother didn't correct me until I was in the 6th grade, LOL!
I used that when i started first grade i was in six grade cuz i was six years old. and i believed it until i was 8 im 12 now
I used to assign colours to all the numbers when I was a kid. Perhaps this stemmed from a Sesame Street/Playschool obsession. 1 was always yellow, 2 was red, 3 was blue, 4 was green, 5 was orange, 6 was purple, 7 was pale green, 8 was black, 9 was indigo and 10 was rainbow. It took me a long time to grow out of this, and I think I still secretly do this!
I used to believe college cost 1 billion dollars.
I used to believe that if we dig a hole put some pencil wrappers and pour milk for 3 days in the early morning will be turned to a rubber, till me grandma heppened to notice it.
I used to believe that when you dropped a book in the bookdrop outside the school library, the book travelled to a magical land where all books lived in peace and harmony. Imagine how heartbroken I was when I found out that the bookdrop just led to the librarian's office!
When I was younger and we were learning about the world, they showed a map of the world. I always believed that the map only showed one side of the world and I could never understand why I couldn't learn about the other side. Now I'm disappointed that I've learned about the earth and there's no new land.
I thought that all my classmates are my cousins.
In my parochial kindergarten class, the teacher tried to explain synonyms. When she gave as an example "two Father Johns would be a pair of Father Johns", I thought it meant we would have one normal Father John and one pear-shaped Father John.
WHEN I WAS IN 1ST GRADE A LADY CAME INTO OUR CLASS AND ASKED IF ANYONE HAD ALREADY BEEN IN SPEECH THERAPY.I RAISED MY HAND WITH SOME OTHERS AND TO MY HORROR I HAD TO GO WITH THEM. I NEVER HAD SPEECH CLASS NOR DID I NEED IT. I THOUGHT I WOULDN'T HAVE TO GO IF I'D ALREADY BEEN THERE.THEY SENT ME BACK TO MY CLASS.
When I was in preschool, I used to believe that if you just scribbled loops on paper, that was writing cursive.
