When I was younger, I used to think that women and men had to have sex every night for the 9 months that a woman was carrying a baby. I thought this was the only way to stay pregnant.
I used to think that eating watermelon seeds got you pregnant. When I ate one purpously to get pregnant, and I never did, I was crushed!

When i was little I once asked a grown-up what "pregnant" meant. "Well Gary," she said, "It means BEING WITH CHILD."......huh?? What good is that explanation for an 8 year-old? Anyhow, as children tend to do, I took this explanation very literally, and thought that anyone who was with other children must be pregnant. (Being with child = with children ) One day I was at my aunts, and she asked me if I'd seen my cousin Emma...."Yes" I said....."She's pregnant with Barry in the back garden!"
When I was little, about 4 or 5 years old, I thought to have a baby all you had to do was say out loud "I want to have a baby." One day I said that and I started crying almost because I thought I was actually going to have one!
When I was in about 4th grade in catholic school they finally gave us a sex-ed class. Much of what the teacher told us I already knew... but then they began to discuss how in some cases they need take the egg out of the woman and fertilize it in a dish and put it back in the woman. Knowing that masturbation is looked down upon by the church, I remember asking how they got the sperm out of the man, but I don't remember getting any answer..... I went on to believe there must be some sort of surgery involved.
I had NO idea that sex and getting pregnancy were linked until I was 12. I thought that a woman would just spontaneously become pregnant one day, not to mention that I had been told the baby came out of her belly button. I also was completely unaware of penetration in sex, that sex was solely recreational and involved two people getting naked and kissing.
Boy, was that ever a shocking day of health class.
when i was a little girl i used to think that a woman didn't have a choice in getting pregnant. I thought when it was the "right" time a baby just started growing in womens bellys. I was so afraid that one day one would start growing in me.

When I was younger I thought that a man cut a womans belly open and planted a water melon seed, that would later become a baby. And that when the baby was born the belly would completly fall off and in it would be the baby and like an egg it would hatch. I was GREATLY dissapointed when my mom made me stay at grandmas for the hatching of my brother.
My sister (quite a few years older than my brother and myself) had my brother ABSOLUTELY convinced that you would get pregnant if you ate Sugar Babies candy. She also told him that if a boy ate Sugar Daddies candy that the next girl they kissed would get pregnant.
I used to believe that to get pregnant you needed to touch your vagina. For a long time i avoided touching it, so i never wiped it after going to the loo. once I touched it in the shower I screamed to my mum that I had had sex and that I was pregnant. She took me to the docter and you can imagine that I was deadly embarresed because of one thing.
I was 15.
When I was younger I used to think that the way people got pregnant was because they got a tiny tiny baby, like from a ceral box, and ate them and then the baby grew bigger inside the womans stomach 'til it was ready and it came out of their belly button.

When I was 18, I was pregnant with my first child. A good friend of mine was pregnant as well. One day she was telling me that she refused to have sex with her boyfriend because she was already pregnant and didn't want to have twins.
I thought it was incredibly sad that nobody had given this girl the facts and information about sex and pregnancy...and here she was almost ready to give birth.
When I was maybe 14 or so, I was walking home from school with my best friend Cindy. She wanted to ask me a question, and said 'dont laugh at me'. I told her I wouldn't. She asked: 'Can you get pregnant from a tampon?'
I was NOT sexually active yet, but was well informed by my Mother, who believed that if you didn't educate your children, you were only doing them a disservice.
I explained to her that penetration wasn't the cause of pregnancy, SPERM was.
When I was about 9 or 10 I believed that you could get pregnant by eating certian foods like, chicken and cabbage
When i was little my brother told me that to make a baby a man and a woman had to put there bits next to each other and she would become pregnant!
My mom used to tell us that all she had to do to get pregnant was to be in the same room as my dad. Naturally, I assumed for several years that being in a room with a guy was how you got pregnant, after getting your period of course.
I told a friend of mine when I was younger that if he thought about sex the same time the girl he liked thought about it, she would get pregnant.
I remember when my mom first told me about reproductive system. I was about 8 years old and i became deeply afraid that I was going to get pregnant from using toilet paper because it made contact with my "parts".
when i was young i was told by my freinds that to have a baby a boy must rub his penis agianst your stomach and the girl had 2 swallow a sun flower seed....
when i was little i had a childrens bible (you know, easy to read, censored, pictures.) Anyways, the children's bible refered to sex as "lying down with eachother". When i read about a woman being forced to "lie down" with a man, i'm all "That's not a punishment!". Then it said, "She soon gave birth to 14 children" I was worried cuz i used to lay next to my mom all the time!
