I used to think that in order to have a baby two people needed to kiss for 15 minutes with taking a breath.
When I was very young (about 5) I saw some commercial for AIDS or teen pregnancy and the commercial ended with something like "Make sure you know what your kids are thinking about sex.." And from then on i tried to never thing about sex or pregnant people because I thought if you thought about it you would become pregnant.
i used to believe that if you caught your mum and dad canuduling they would have the powers to make you pregnant so i never look at them in the bedroom
Until I was fourteen years old and in grade nine, I believed home pregnancy tests worked the same way as oral thermometers (you put it under your tongue and wait a few minutes, and then it tells you if you're pregnant or not). Imagine my shock when I was hanging out in the music room one day, and I found out the truth by overhearing some of my older friends talking about home pregnancy tests, lol.
when i was about 7 i used to believe that if you wanted to get pregnant you
had to lick your elbow
when i was around 1st grade age, i was always scared that i was going to get pregnant, since i didn't know the facts of life yet. around that time we had a family reunion at my aunt's house. all the kids were going to sleep over, so i had to share a bed with my cousin paul, who is my age. a few days later, i asked my mom how women get pregnant, and she said, "as long as u don't sleep in the same bed as a boy, u won't get pregnant." she couldn't understand why i burst out in tears!
I used to believe that you could only get pregnant when you were married, and that when you did the baby grew from a seed that was in your stomach
when i was younger some girl told me people got pregnant by someone spitting into into the girls mouth...ewww.i always believed that to..up untill a sex class we had

Until I was 10 I thought that "when a man and a woman fall in love" then they would have a baby. This scared me becuz I had a boyfriend. So when I came to my mom quite scared about getting pregnant she told me the birds and the bees....:)

Okay, here's another one for my sister: My parents had an old cab-over camper, you know the kind that fit in the back of a pick up truck. It sat in the backyard rotting for years. Well, one day my 24-year-old half-sister asked my parents why they kept it. They told her that my 5-year-old brother was conceived in it during a hunting trip they took years ago. She promtply asked, "He went with ya'll?" My dad replied, "Yeah, he went with me and came back with her", pointing at my mom.

When I was 5 my mother had twins. I was overjoyed at having a new brother and sister but they had stolen my bedroom (the big one) and I had to move into the little room. To be assured that I would be not kicked out of this room I asked my mother one day if she had had her baby maker turned off. I'm not sure where I came up with the idea but I can clearly remember what a "baby maker" looked like. I thought there was a metal tube inside a woman that made babies and when a woman decided to not have any more children the doctor would turn the big red switch on the side to OFF. My mother assured me that her baby maker had been turned off.

When I was little, I had a friend who told me one day that she NEVER wanted to have a baby.. because she didn't want to have the operation to get pregnant. I was perplexed as I had never heard this theory before, and I told her she was wrong. She proceeded to explain how a doctor needed to remove a chunk of the husbands flesh from his body, and then surgically insert it into the womans body. I wanted to believe she was wrong, but at the same time, I had no better theory, so I went along with it too.
when i was 7ish i used to think that you got a girl pregnant by peeing in them
As a child I was told that if a girl wanted to get pregnant all she had to do was hold a boys hand! Thank god for sex ed, I never would hold a guys hand!!!
I am the baby of 4 sisters and to keep me from being interested in boys my dad told me that if I was to talk to boys on the phone I would get pregnant. I believed this story into my teen years and never talked to boys... Until I saw the "GIRLS ONLY FILM". This is when I told my dad that babies don't come from a phone, your silly dad.
I used to believe that pregnant women were not really pregnant. My dad always told me not to eat the black watermelon seeds cuz if i did i would grow a watermelon in my tummy. One day we were at the mall and a very pregnant walked by and my dad said to me "See, she ate a watermelon seed." That scared me out of eating watermelon seeds to this day.

I used to believe that all you had to do to get pregnant was to kiss a man while you were naked under the sheets.
Then the next day you had to eat a lot of food to get your stomach fat, and make sure that you eat a lot of animal body parts like turkey necks, chicken legs, an entire turkey for the body, pig lips, peas for eyes, chicken feet for feet, finger food for fingers, and so on. But that Always left me wondering how vegetarians became pregnant.
One time when I was really little I asked my mom where babies came from. (Now, I knew that if a woman was pregnant she was going to have a baby, but I didn't know how she got pregnant) Since my mom thought I was too young to know, she told me that babies came from God. This led me to believe that when a couple wanted a baby, they had to pray really hard and God would sort of plant a baby insided of them... which led me to believe that girl babies came from women, and boy babies came from men (with beer bellies!)
when i was about 5 or so, me and my mom were talking, and somehow the subject became babies, birth, things like that (i still didnt know how babies were made though). i also dont know how this came up, but my mom told me that my babysitter was old enough to have a baby. my babysitter then was like...15 or so, and i was shocked. before this conversation, my mom had always told me that people could only have babies after they got married (believing in no pre-marital sex) and my 15-year-old was definitely not married. of course she was talking about menstruating and stuff, meaning she was just capable of having a baby. i had no clue about this, so i was SOOOOO deathly afraid that when i got to be her age, that i would just magically become pregnant, just out of the blue. i wondered how so many girls managed to stay un-pregnant because this could just happen to anyone when you were old enough...oh, how naive i was...
