I used to believe women got pregnant spontaneously, depending on how lucky and unlucky they were
I used to think that babies were made by swallowing a pea at the hospital. They were all mixed up in a bowl so you didnt know if it was a boy or girl!
When I was little I used to believe that women prayed to get pregnant. I would sit in church and here them talk about how they had prayed and prayed and finally a baby came--so I never had to aks the dreaded question.
when I was about 10 or 11, a girl I knew who was aged 13, said she new how you got pregnant. I asked her how, and she said if we undressed she would show me. We both undressed, and she touched me until I had an erection, and she said when I was older, if I rubbed it something would come out and I would have to make sure it went on her belly-button, to make her have a baby.
I used to believe that if I swallowed the watermelon seeds I'd get pregnant.
when i was about 7 or 8 i thought if you wanted to have a girl the mom would have to get on top. and for a boy the dad would have to get on top.
When I was a kid, I thought that woman get pregnant simply by looking at their husband. And finally after the birth the child will look like mum or dad (or a mixture) cause mum looked into the mirror and in dad's face too and the characteristics of both faces are somehow transferred "via mother's eyes" into the genes of the child...
When I was little, I thought a woman would get pregnant by getting a shot. She and her husband would go to the clinic and the doctor would inject a shot into her for a small price. Also, I thought that babies would come out of the butthole.
when i was in second grade my mom had already given me "the talk" because i wanted to be a doctor and i got an anatomy book. well i had a crush on a boy, and in school i would sit next to him and make the hem of my shorts open a little to let him "fertilize" me. what was i THINKING? O.o
I used to believe that the man pulled something out of the woman during sex and that the woman had to eat if to become pregnant. If they wanted, both of them could eat it but only the woman would become pregnant.
I thought if you had sex (I wasn't too sure what that was, but I knew babies came from having sex) then the girl would automatically be pregnant but the baby wouldn't start to grow until she was 15 years old. I was terrified to hold hands or kiss a boy because I thought that might be sex and then I'd have a baby when I was 15 and everyone would know I'd had sex.
Before I knew how babies were made, I used to think that sitting down in the same spot where a boy just sat would get me pregnant! I remember I was so scared because once I sat down right after my uncle got up and I thought I was gonna be pregnant! Dumb, I know! It was getting to me so shortly after I did my own research and learned otherwise.
I use to believe that pregnant women got that way because they ate a watermelon seed, and it grew in their stomache.
Growing up, my mom always wanted us to use our towels 2-3 times before getting a new one. For the longest time, I believed that I could get pregnant by accidentally using my brother's towel. It grossed me out and scared me to death so I would always make sure my towel was totally different from his and if they touched on the rack, I'd only barely use it - just in case.
My parents never taught me how babies were made, so I picked up from others that babies are made when two people fall in love. In 6th grade I had my first crush on a boy and thought I was in love, so therefore I must have gotten pregnant. Thinking I was pregnant, I was very scared of what my parents would think and kept checking the mirror to see if my belly was growing!
My mom was learning to drive around the time that she was pregnant with my youngest brother (I was about 8 years old when he was born). I remember thinking that "pregnant" had something to do with getting a driver's license.
For years I thought that in order to get pregnent, a woman had to be "blessed" by God. I had a friend whose parents were never married, and I thought, "wouldn't it be terrible if God decided you should be pregnant if you didn't have a husband?". I thought that my dad was only part of the family legally; because he and my mom were married; I didn't think we were related biologically at all.
When i was young i thought you got pregnant by pee.
i used to think that if anything too hard touched my butt i would get pregnant to i tried not to sit too flat down on chairs
I knew that you have to have sex to make babies, and I had a vague idea of the job profile of prostitution. But I had no clue there was something like birth control. So I imagined all prositutes where pregnant all the time and had lots of children!
