I used to believe that when it was time for a woman to give birth , she would swallow a rope , the baby would take hold, and the mother would then pull the baby out of her mouth .

I used to believe that all babies were born by c-section. My mom had a long scar on her belly from a gallstone surgery, but I assumed it was from giving birth.

i used to think that women get huge tummies because it means they are going to get a baby...n how the baby comes???well when the tummy is about to blow up God and the angels will come to her bed and leave a baby by her side...and angels will do magic and make her tummy flat again

To spare me the worry and anxiety of the truth about giving birth, my mother told me that when you had a baby, a place just under a womans belly button would open up and a baby would come out and that it didnt hurt at all. I believed that well after our very POOR sex ed class that didnt explain sex or babies at all, but merely ended up confuseing us all and forceing us to demand facts from our parents.

Until I was 6 or 7, I was convinced that babie's came out of their mother's butt. For a couple years after that, I was under the impression that their was 3 small round holes on the female anatomy, each having it own individual purpose...

I used to think babies came out of a woman's bottom, and can still remember asking my mum about it. She put me right and told me about the "front bottom". I would have been 11 or so at the time, quite naive for my age

I used to believe that babies are being born through a little hole between the bellybutton and the genitals, and that later the doctor stitches it. It was also only at the age of 10 I first heard about a thing called "period" and "masturbation". I remember I asked my mother what is it and when she started to answer me I got so embarrassed and said "Okay okay I get it!" before she even succeeded to complete her explanation.

I used to believe that babies came out of their mother's mouth like a small bubble.

I thought that all babies had to be delivered by cutting open the mother's stomach. After all how else was that huge thing supposed to get out.

When I was very young, I thought babies were born out of their mother's armpit. No idea how I came to that conclusion....

This is actually from my 4 year old son. A friend was pregnant and he got to feel the baby move. He was very interested in the whole thing. When the baby was born I told him he could meet the baby that he got to feel moving and he asked if the mom had barfed out the baby. He was sure that she ate the baby and then barfed it out!

I thought babies came out of your navel when they were ready to be born. (Probably would have been more comfortable!)

Also, my 4 older sisters had me convinced that everytime a girl had intercourse they got pregnant.

When I was little, I always heard the phrase "babies come from mothers' tummies"- I took this to mean that the baby grew in the stomach. And I always thought that in order to be born, babies needed to come out of the mothers mouths- after all, how on earth could they come out between the legs? I had quite the horrible mental image of ladies with babies coming out of their mouths.

My friend Geoffry told me that babies were born by the man putting his willy inside the woman. The baby would then grab hold with both hands and be pulled out. I have never been so disgusted.

in my early life i was under the impression that babies somehow morphed their way through their mummy's tummy when 'born'. i didn't ever think of the specifics...

I thought that babies were born out of your bellybutton (couldn't think of anywhere else they pop out of!)

My mother when she told me that when pregnant with me she had a craving for mars bars so when I was born I was covered in mars bars. I told this to everyone at school till I was about 11.
