When I was very young (maybe three) I thought that babies were born from between a woman's breasts. Probably this thought was encouraged by the fact that my mom, being slightly heavy at the time, had very DEEP cleavage.

When I was 4 my mum gave birth to my sister in a home-birth. I slept through the birth (it was 9.30, well past my bedtime!) but I was woken up to meet my new sister. Naturally I was quite excited as I went downstairs to find my parents sitting with the mid-wife and a close friend. The friend (a man) was holding my sister, and I refused to believe it was my mums baby; I thought she was hiding my sister from me. I figured the friend must have been also had a baby on the same night!
The only other thing I remember of that night is roasting chestnuts on an open fire. I find it hard to believe these memories are the same night but im sure they were.

One day I overheard my mum and my friends mum talking about when we were born and how much we weighed (I was 8 pounds, she was 6). Because the money in the UK is in pounds too, I thought that you had to pay to pick your baby up from the hospital and for years I thought that my mum and dad must love me more than hers did because they paid more for me.

Me and one of my sisters made our youngest sister belive that she was born too late because she had such big front-teeth. She thought that they had stopped her from coming out earlier. She belived it for many, many years.

when i was little my mum told me that babie are born through a little hole in your tummy. i looked at my own tummy and the only little hole i could find was my belly button so i assumed that babies were born out of your belly button. but what i didnt understand was how that big baby inside you could squeeze out of a tiny little hole. it was in y3 i found out that i was thinking of the wrong hole. lol! *smacks head*

I used to think that women didn't have vaginas so a baby would come out of their belly buttons. I thought this for a few years, and then my mother told me that babyies were fed from the mothers belly button when a women was pregnant. That made me think that the baby would be eating out of a small tube in their mother and then all of a sudden it would be sucked into the tube and end up outside of the person.

When I was around 5 I told my mom that babies come out of your butt. It wasn't until I was 25 that my mom finally understood that I had no idea where babies really come out from. She thought my nickname for my vagina was butt!!

I never really gave a lot of thought to where babies came from, until.....I saw an episode of Emergency in 3rd grade (1973). They were called to a house where a lady was in labor. They put a blanket on her tummy and POOF...a baby!!So I thought the babies come out by...reverse osmosis?

well i thought ::for a good 10 years of my life:: sad to say that a girl only had two holes and that the baby came out of a new hole that formed right when you were about to have the baby. i always wanted to find that hole.

When I was pregnant a couple years ago, my 4 yr old daughter thought that I would explode when the baby was born. She was quite relieved to hear that it didn't work that way, though I didn't go into great detail about the way it really happens.

When I was pretty young(about 4 or 5)my mom told me about how some babies were delviered with a C-section. I already kind of knew how most babies were born, but after she told me about C-sections, I thought THAT was the way that most babies were born. Also when she told me how they had to cut the mother open, I though she meant they cut the mother in half(literally). I wondered how the woman survied this..

I used to believe that babies came out of the mom's belly button. I knew they came out of a hole in the body but being small I had no idea where this hole would be other than the belly button. Kinda figured what else was it good for.

I caught my Mom off guard one day and she told me babies came out the belly button. I didn't discover the truth until watching a cow give birth a few years later.

I don't remember where I thought babies came from, but I have distinct memories of when I was about 5 and some kids in nursery school were playing with dolls, pretending the doll was havin a baby and they were doctors. They apparently thought all babies were born by caesarian section - one of the boys pretended to sew the doll up and another kid said "James, you forgot to take the baby out!"

When I was younger, I used to believe that when a lady had twins or triplets or more, that they all came out at once....I never understood how they could all fit.
