When I was about 6, I asked my Mum when people had babies, and she answered "when they get married". For quite some time after that I thought that babies appeared from nowhere the minute you were married - sex, pregnancy and childbirth were non-existent! Things appeared so much simpler in childhood!
I saw a mother giving birth on TV when I was 4.That's when I started to believe that babies were actually born from a woman's butthole, and it's also very dangerous for a pregnant lady to poo ...because when a pregnant lady has a bad case of constipation, she might accidentally poo her baby out.
Until I was 11 or 12, I would look at our neighborhood granny, and then at her adult son - perhaps he was in his thirties then - and I would wonder how she was able to give birth to such a big baby! It never occurred to me that he was born tiny, and grew up to be a big man!
Well....I probably have the same belief as many people, babies came from thier moms belly button.I believed that until i saw a video of a duck laying an egg, then i thought it came out of their behind.I soon went back to the first bellieve.
When I was little, I used to think women gave birth out of their bellybutton. I wasn't sure how it exactly worked, but was sure there wasn't any other place for the babies to come out, other than the bellybutton.
till the age of 13 i always beleived that women gives birth through her navel. hehe
So me and my cousin are like 2 weeks apart and when we were little we used to argue on how a woman gave birth... She thought women through up babies and I thought they pooped them out, after a long arguement we then settled on babies come out the belly button till later when my older brother told us we were wrong...
I'm 16 now, but until I was about 11 or 12, and I always knew the way a woman gave birth, but I always thought if the baby was too ugly or loud, that you could just return it to the hospital and get a new one.... I tried that one day when I was in the hospital, i forget with who and why, holding my crying 4 year old brother. I told the nurse that I wanted a quieter baby that was nicer.... but then my parents told me 'if it was possible to return a loud baby, I would have been returned ages ago'
Actually kinda funny looking back on it XD
l used to believe storks bring the babies. if stork's beak's blue, then he carrying a baby boy, if it is pink, then it is a baby girl
To spare me the worry and anxiety of the truth about giving birth, my mother told me that when you had a baby, a place just under a womans belly button would open up and a baby would come out and that it didnt hurt at all. I believed that well after our very POOR sex ed class that didnt explain sex or babies at all, but merely ended up confuseing us all and forceing us to demand facts from our parents.
I used to believe that all babies were born by c-section. My mom had a long scar on her belly from a gallstone surgery, but I assumed it was from giving birth.
Till when I was in my 12th grade, I used to believe that babies come from the butt! And there was a big fight between my friend and me regarding this, until he finally took me to a classmate of mine (girl) and she explained me with blushes. I too had to accept with much embarrasment.
When my friend was younger, she asked her (prudish) mother where she'd come from and was told "you came from a hole in my bottom". She assumed this meant she'd actually walked out of a big hole in one of her mother's arse-cheeks, and told me all about it the next day at school. I was really confused, because I had a "where babies come from" book which told it straight, but I always thought she was cleverer than me, so I was totally lost for a few years!
When I was heavily pregnant with my son, my little cousin Callum asked me " when the baby's finished sleeping will you have to poo it out?" Guess he wasn't far wrong... eeeuuuwww!
I'd always heard about the "miracle" of birth. Being raised strict Roman Catholic I knew what he church considered miracles. I therefore assumed that a baby magically passed thru the mothers stomach wall into the world at birth. When I saw a film of an actual birth I was really upset about it. I thought it was the most awful thing I had ever witnessed and wondered how anyone would refer to the event as a "miracle"
when i was younger, that babies were born by tearing their way out of the mother's stomach, and everytime my mom was pregnant i always tried to find the scar and there was nothing, it confused me for years.
When I was little I thought that women had to get a Cesarian section to deliver the baby.
When I was born my mother had to have a c-section. For years I didn't know what c-section was. I remember one day I saw her scar on her stomach. I thought the only way for the baby to come out was the doctor had to cut the mommy's stomach open and take the baby out.
When I was little, I thought you had to sign a form to have a baby delivered. I thought that babies were really carried to the mum's by a bird, that the mum pressed her belly button when the baby was ready.
when i was younger i used to belive that babies used to come out like poop then when u flushed it down the toilet and then the doctor would come and bring it to you
