I used to think that to have a baby, the doctors had to cut your tummy open. Needless to say, I swore never to get pregnant.
When I was young I saw my Mom's bellybutton and I thought it looked wrinkly. So I asked her why her bellybutton looked that way and she told me (not sure why) that it was from when I was born. So after that I believed baby's were born out of bellybuttons.
I used to believe that to give birth you simply pressed your belly button and the baby popped out! If only it were that easy!! well why else would it be called a 'button'! Also at a different stage in my life I was worried that the baby might accidently pop out while you were on the toilet!!
Up until I was 13 I seriously used to believe when a woman had a child, that it came from the OTHER hole in her body, I always wished to never have kids, because of that.
I am the oldest of three girls; my mother had all of us via c-section. It wasn't until sitting in my 7th grade health class seeing a LIVE birth during sexual education that I realized that not all babies are born through surgery!
When I was about 7 or so and I had just learnt about masturbation I though that the good feeling that came from that was what giving birth felt like, and women screamed and moaned because of the nice feeling.
A few years ago, my younger brother and I were playing with eachother when the conversation trurned to babies and he mentioned to me "Babies come out of your bumhole."
When I asked him if he was sure he said, "Well, yea. Where else would they come out."
He has also mentioned this several times at the dinner table and to his AND my friends.
I think he knows the truth now.
He should be ashamed.
I used to believe that if a woman wanted to breastfeed that she had to get shots in her nipples to make the milk start coming out.
Until maybe I was in grade 6, I used to believe that babies "came out" through the anus. I think about it sometimes & laugh at my stupidity.
When I was between kindergarden and 2nd grade I use to think the baby would come out of the belly bottun
As a child I believed that a woman birthed her babies through her mouth. I was very concerned as to how a mother could breathe as she was pushing a baby out of her mouth. Thankfully, my mother cleared this up for me (after chuckling a while over my misconception).
my little brother is 7 and he still thinks that baby's come out of the mommies belly button! so he lays on his back and tells me to pull the baby out of his belly button! he even makes noises as if a woman would? he's watched way to many movies!!
