When I first heard about blow jobs as a kid I thought they were performed as the name describes. Luckily it was explained to me before I became an adult.

When I was on vacation in Hawaii I saw some fruit flavored condoms in a store, like pineapple and mango for example. At that point I knew what condoms were for but not about the existence of oral sex so I couldn't think of why they were flavored. When I was around 11, I stumbled upon an article explaining that "Most young people belive oral sex isn't actually sex." and that this was an incorrect belief.
