Not sure why, but, I believed everytime I flushed the toilet Captin Hook would come up, out of the toilet, and get me. So, I would flush the toilet and sprint out of the bathroom.
I used to believe that there were red and black spiders underneath the table in the toilet.
When I was a boy I used to have to get halfway down the stairs to the middle landing before the toiilet stopped flushing or the monsters would get me.
That the "Childcatcher" from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang would come up the toilet + catch me while I was on it.
I used to believe that the big, bad wolf lived in the toilet and he'd bite me if I was still on when I flushed it
When I was little, my older cousin told me that there was a "Potty Monster" that lived in the toilet and would grab your bum if you flushed the toilet while you were still sitting on it.
There was a creepy old photo of my great-great-grandparents hanging on the wall in the hallway directly across from the bathroom in the house I grew up in. As my grandmother was convinced that I would "get up to mischief" (who knows what she thought I'd do) in any room with the door closed, I wasn't allowed to close the bathroom door. I'd pee or poo as quickly as I could, averting my eyes from the creepy old folks in the picture, then flush-n-run like a mad thing -- I thought the people in the creepy picture could see me in the bathroom and would kill me if they knew I knew they could...
I used to be believe that, in public restrooms, when you flushed the toilet, the lights would go out (and you wouldn't be able to find the way out of the restroom, etc.). Then, one day, it happened. Seriously.
When i was younger and i had just been to the toilet, i used to open the door, lean in, flush the toilet and run away because i thought something would come up and get me.
I used to belive that if I went to the toilet,sat down and pushed really really hard, my inside would come out. I olso belived that a awfull hand could come up, and drag my insides out.
when I was in grade school, about 4th grade, maybe younger, I heard someone talking about a monster in the toilet. I don't know who it was but for the longest time I would flush the toilet and run away, never staying in the room after it had been flushed. Aparently the monster could only get out if you flushed it.
When I was little I was afraid to sit on the toilet because my grandma told me there was a monster that lived in the pipes, and it came up and grabble little kids who stayed on for too long.
I used to believe that whenever I flushed the toilet, the Scrubber Bubbles from those cleaning comercials, would come up out of the toilet and scrub me (and the bathroom) if I didn't get out of the bathroom before the toilet stopped flushing. It scared me really bad. I would wash my hands in the kitchen or other bathroom.
i used to believe that little people lived in the toilets. and that they could eat anything and everything.
When i was young we had an outside toilet. I was told not to sit for too long or else spiders would crawl up my bum and lay their eggs.
My grandfather terrorised me from the age of 5 by telling me that the devil lived down the toilet. I still can't leave a toilet seat up even now.

When i was little my babysitter made me and my older sister watch "IT" the movie... i wanted to watch carebears.. so after we watched the movie .. i had the weirdest fear of using the toilet.. i would hover and watch inside the toilet and make sure that this werid clown guy wouldn't come out and grab me and take me and kill me or what ever...
A friend's mum told her that if she flushed the toilet whilst she was still sitting on it, she would be flushed down too! She is 22 and still frightened to do this!
My sister was 10 when the movie Jaws first came out and she begged my father to take her to see it for her birthday, finally he caved and took her. Unfortunately it absolutely terrifed her and for weeks later she was even scared when she went to the toilet incase the shark came up and bit her bottom.
