When a friend was going on an airplane for the first time when he was young, he looked out the window, saw all the buildings and cars getting smaller and smaller, turned to his mother, and proclaimed "This is a big hill!"
When I was little I used to believe that when u went on an airplane you could choose oyour own seatso evrytime my family traveled i got really mad cause we would never seat in the big seats up front.
When I was little, I used to beleive that hospitals were on an aeroplane! Boy was i one stupid kid!
whenever we rode in airplanes, i used to ask my dad if he could arrange to have us land on the clouds. i thought they'd be like soft yet solid mounds of snow; so long as we'd brought our coats with us, we shouldn't get too cold. what's worse is that he said it sounded like a good idea and that he'd try to arrange it for our next flight.
WHEN I FLEW IN A PLANE FOR THE FIRST TIME AND WE WAS LEAVING GREAT BRITAIN TO GO ACROSS THE ATLANTIC, I EXCITEDLY SHOUTED OUT WERE AT THE END OF THE WORLD!!
My niece used to believe that I lived in the sky because she always saw me leave for school on an airplane.
The first time I was taken to an airport as a child, I expected to see airplanes flap their wings on takeoff, like birds. I was surprised to see that airplanes could become airborne without ever flapping their wings.
once one a flight to Menorca those ladys that always smile and take the drinks round they were doing the safty talk and my brother shouted out "i don't want to jump.
I used to think that everytime i flew on a plane i would see God's head poking out of the clouds. I was disappointed when there was no sight of him!
top belief!
As a child I could not understand why there were blinking red lights in the sky in certain places (on top of radio transmitting towers, but I didn't know that at the time). My dad told me they were there to keep airplanes from running into them. So I wondered why anyone would waste time building obstacle courses for the planes.
My brother told me that gremlins were always on planes and that could come and get you. He said they lived in the plane's toilet, so I would stay around my mom.
When i was young i used to think that when aeroplanes left a trail of smoke in the air, it was actually their tail fins scratching the top of the sky
I used to believe that the jets that left smoke behind them were making clouds for days when there weren't any clouds and we needed them.
I was 10 when going to Italy on my first flight, and nearing towards the end of the journey the plane literally dropped and shortly after we were coming in to land, well zoom forward 13 years and now going on my second flight and to the USA this time, it was a fantastic flight, but after landing I was slightly disappointed that we hadn't dropped vertically before the landing, what I hadn't realised was that on my first flight it was likely we encountered turbulence and the plane had probably fallen a few hundred feet, I honestly thought the plane dropped from the sky until it was low enough and then just glided into the airport!!! Doh!
My sister snd i started flying by ourslefs when we were about 6 to go see our family and my aunt told us that if we looked hard enough tha we wouls see care bears so when we went on a plane we would start s 6 and kept lookin for the care bears that lasted till i was 9
I used to love to look out airplane windows at the clouds. I believed that if I jumped out, I would land on them and they'd be slightly bouncy and feel like cotton.
i used to think that when a plane was flyin over if we would yell ice creaam really loud they would drop me and my older sis ice cream i wasnt the brightest kid
wehn me and my younger sister were about 5 and 6 (in the 80's) we lived near an airport, i used to tell her the planes were bombers from the war (second world war) and if they heard us moving about underneath them they would bomb us, my sister believed me and i had to come clean when i looked down on the botton bunk and saw my sister had turned blue from holding her breath.
My cousin told me when I was a kid that that white smoke pattern in the sky that is left by certain planes was really Superman farting in the sky. I believed her.
top belief!
All through my childhood years my dad used to travel from the US to the UK for three week trips three times a year. We always went on the trips to and from the airport to drop him off and pick him up. My little sister for many years never realised he actually went somewhere. She thought he just climbed on the plane and stayed there for three weeks. So she played "Going to England" and would pack up all her stuffed animals in suitcases, go get on the "plane" (sofa), stay there a bit, and then "come home" again. It was quite a shock to her when she realised he did things other than just sit on the plane for the entire trip.
